Ruby: Masons Daughter should be rock solid at Ballinrobe this evening

Ruby runs through the evening races at Ballinrobe, where Willie Mullins has four runners and Walsh senior has an interest too...

Wille has four runners this evening at Ballinrobe. First up is Masons Daughter in the opener at 17.50.

She brings a fairly high level of bumper performance to the table and she should be hard beat. Patrick Mullins is very happy with her too.

She has strong winter form as well so she should be good enough to win around here. She’d be my best bet of the evening for sure.

Kolumbus ran in a qualified rider race at Leopardstown last time. He probably needed that run, and he loved the ground. This is a 2m1f maiden hurdle, he has plenty of experience and he’s improved since his last run out, so he’ll give a good account of himself here.

Pleasure Dome was expected to win in Sligo, but she got beaten by a length. Her jumping let her down a bit there, and hopefully she’ll do better tonight.

She is what she is, but if she jumps a bit more fluently she’ll be fine.

Westport Lady is in the bumper this evening. Her owners are from out around Westport obviously, she goes well, she stays well, and I hope she’s sharp enough for the run around Ballinrobe.

My father Ted has Batcio in the same race. He’s a stayer too. I’m not sure either of these will be really suited to the course, but this does look like a bit of a match between them. Batcio has the experience, but Westport Lady could be unexposed.
