Everything points to a ‘The New One’ win at Cheltenham

See why Mick thinks Sam Twiston Davies' ride is the one to back at Cheltenham....

Doncaster Races

1.55 Cheltenham

It is the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup and only three horses have done the double.

Splash of Ginge has a great chance of doing so, having only gone up 5lb for his win in the November race. The ground was really soft that day and Ballyalton just seemed to get bogged down in it. He will be much better on this ground and track.

Two picks from me here – Ballyalton & Splash of Ginge.

2.30 Cheltenham

Count Meribel has got on a real roll and so has his trainer, and this one could notch the four timer here.

The odds won’t be huge – but I’d be fairly confident of success.

3.05 Cheltenham

The International Hurdle has been farmed by The New One and Sammy Twiston-Davies has pushed to get back for him.

He wants to be on-board when he becomes the first horse to win it four times. Melon is the big danger after his second in the supreme to Labaik and his comeback win at Down Royal.

3.40 Cheltenham

I really like one at a decent price as an e/w bet. Graceful Legend has had her form boosted by the horse she beat at Ascot.

Jet Setter ran a blinder at Cheltenham today and at 14/1 is a working man’s price.

2.10 Doncaster

Doncaster is also on ITV 4 and the 2.10 Braquer D’or could kick things off for us as his form with Total Recall looks really strong from Newbury.

I’l take him to get us rolling at Donny.

2.45 Doncaster

We Have a Dream was a smart horse in France and looked an absolute natural when scoring at Warwick for Nicky Henderson I take him

To edge it  over a smart recruit to hurdling in Act Of Valour.

3.20 Doncaster

Sego Success loves Donny and was 4th in this race last year off a 5lb higher mark when favourite.

I really like his chance with lots in his favour. I’d say Virgilio is the e/w play. He was favourite for the race at Aintree last time and more than deserves another chance.
