Jason Weaver: I’m backing this 9/2 shot to bring me some luck at Newmarket on Saturday

The Weaver Shark is picking his fancied horses from Saturday's racing at Haydock and Newmarket...

Nelson is going to be short-priced, but he’s looked to be on the improve the last twice out. He fairly bolted up in a group 3 at Leopardstown on good to yielding ground, so if the rain arrives at Newmarket it won’t pose a problem.

Unfortunately already has a group 1 victory in the bag and can double his tally today.

He is very uncomplicated, and the forecast rain will not be a problem. Karl Burke has had a remarkable season with his juveniles and this can be another group 1 victory for the northern handler.

Brorocco absolutely bolted up last week and only carries a 4 pound penalty for that decisive success. To add to that, he’s reunited with David Probert and there is no reason to think that he can’t back up that, he loves the hustle and bustle of the big field and he will definitely get that in here.

He seems to have a bit of pace drawn around him and that should help them settle into a nice rhythm, he looks a massive double-figure price!

3:15 Haydock

We are going to have to forgive Aeolus for one bad day at the office last time when he ran no race at York. However, his run prior to that at Goodwood in the Steward Cup behind Launcelot Dulac was an excellent effort.

He was the only one to close from the little way back in that particular contest, also he won’t mind any rain and is drawn bang in the middle, so our rider will have no problem in finding the pace horses to get cover.
