Jason Weaver: This outsider could be a Dream from Tuesday’s TV racing at Goodwood

We're spoilt for choice with racing action this week, and the Weaver Shark is on hand to give his tips for Tuesday at Goodwood

Jason Weaver 1900

1:50 Matchbook Betting Handicap

To kick us off for the day, I’m backing Garcia in the opener. He was the only horse able to come from the back of the pack in the John Smith’s Cup Handicap in July, coming fifth of 20. How he flew home suggested that he could well be a much improved performer this year, and one to look out for.

Richard Fahey has booked Ryan Moore to be on-board so you should get the decent price early, because I’m telling you now, it won’t last!

2:25 Qatar Vintage Stakes

I’m looking no further than Mildenberger here. He has  been impressive in both his races to date, and is going to be overpriced simply because we have a Ballydoyle runner in the line-up.

Seahenge won nice and cosy on debut, but we have no idea how strong that race was, and this is a huge step up. This lad won easily lumping the extra six lbs penalty at Newbury, and is now back off level weights.

Goodwood

3:00 Qatar Lennox Stakes

Just one glance at Dream Castle‘s form lines is exciting enough!

He’s faced Barney Roy, Churchill and Le Brivido already, and he’s not been beaten far at all. He’s low mileage, having only his fifth start, so surely he can improve again. If he takes a step in the right direction, this Grade Two is there for the taking, and at these odds, he looks massive!

3:35 Goodwood Cup

Listen up, we all know Big Orange is going to be tough to beat. That’s a difficult one to deny, but I’m going after a bit of each-way value with Stradivarius

He’s getting a 15lbs weight-for-age allowance as a three-year-old, and won the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot in June in gritty fashion. He didn’t get much luck that day in the straight but picked up well. The extra two furlongs is perfect for him.
