You Beauty! Why one horse racing punter now has £121,490 more reasons to celebrate Christmas

Five horses. Four bets and a whole lot more festive cheer for one lucky horse racing punter

There wasn’t much peace and goodwill to all men at Thursday night’s pitch invasion at Coventry’s Ricoh Stadium, but one horse racing punter in the city came up with  £121,490 reasons to ensure Christmas 2016 is one he never forgets.

The optimistic Paddy Power customer – who placed the bets on his iPad –  managed to create his own festive cheer when all five of his Friday selections romped home at Newcastle and Uttoxeter, in the time it normally takes to pay for a tub of celebrations at the local Asda during Christmas week.

And not content with just backing them to win in one combination bet (below), he put the same selections in different combinations ensuring they when they clicked they hit Paddy where it hurts the most. In the pocket.

Feeling lucky? Why not gallop over to all the latest odds on

First up was Stamford Raffles (7/1) on the all weather at Newcastle 1.35pm, who was quickly followed over the jumps at Uttoxeter by Dalkadam  (11/2), Lord Heathfield (at a massive 20/1) and Bryden Boy (9/1) before Outrage (15/2) made sure he landed all legs of the combination bet by delivering in the last back on Tyneside.

All the selections were at Paddy Power’s guaranteed prices and his combination bet and winnings were:

    • 20p each-way Canadian that returned £31,239
    • 25p each-way Lucky 31 that returned  £39,066
    • 30p doubles that returned  £329
    • 55p each-way five-fold that returned  £51,184

Well done to you sir, for your unbridled optimism. You’ve not only gotten the best Christmas present ever, you’re also now the latest fully-fledged member of Paddy Power’s punting Hall of Fame.
