Timeform double: Trust us with this 6/1 shot at York after our opening-day double clicked

A 5/1 brace for racing's boffins on Wednesday - and they make a good case for a couple more on Yorkshire Oaks day

Queen’s Trust York 15:40

Aidan O’Brien has won the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks three times and he holds a strong entry again with Found and Seventh Heaven.

However, the best bet in the race could be Queen’s Trust who could easily improve again and will be bidding to give her trainer Sir Michael Stoute a record 10th win in this race.

Queen’s Trust is far from exposed as she ran just twice in 2015 and, having shaped well when fourth on her first two starts this year (including in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot), she showed improved form when one and a quarter lengths second of five to Minding in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The return to 1m 4f should suit Queen’s Trust and she promises to run another big race.

Abingdon, York 16:20

Abingdon was a beaten favourite on her most recent start, which came on her first try over this mile-and-a-half-distance in a listed race at Newmarket.

But she was possibly unlucky not to push the winner Fireglow (who runs in the Yorkshire Oaks earlier) close having come from much further back in the field than that filly and is fancied to get back to winning ways in the Listed Galtres Stakes.

Andrea Atzeni’s mount is also trained by Sir Michael Stoute. She won her first two outings this year, a maiden at Ascot and a Listed race at Newbury (both over a mile and a quarter), before heading to Newmarket.

She remains the type to do better, and is just about the pick of the Galtres runners on form. A bold show is anticipated.
