Matt Chapman: I’m going Dutch with this 5/1 shot on a Classic Friday at Epsom

Aidan O'Brien's Minding looks a banker in the Oaks but Ed Dunlop's handicapper still looks well treated

The next three days are just awesome for racing fans, with a Coronation Cup, Oaks, and three Derbys at Epsom, Chantilly and Wimbledon’s Greyhound Final. Plenty of chances to take Paddy to the cleaners. Hear me Paddy?

Friday first. The 2.00pm at Epsom is the Listed Woodcote Stakes over 6f, and I’m all over LEGENDARY LUNCH, who was beaten by the re-opposing Sea of Snow at Windsor last time. Richard Hannon’s colt is better than that and I like him big-time.

There’s a 1m 2f handicap at 2.35pm, and I’m having a few quid on DARK RED who is much improved this season for Ed Dunlop. The selection is proven at the course and in the going and hopefully remains a step ahead of the handicapper.

It’s the Group 3 Diomed at 3.10pm, and 12 months ago we lumped on Arod and he scored. I’m with him again for Peter Chapple-Hyam. He was a fair third last time at Ascot and this is his course.

It’s the extended 1m handicap at 3.45pm, and the one to have a few quid on each-way is another Dunlop inmate, namely DUTCH UNCLE . He was looking hard to win with until at Lingfield last time when he won well and is only up a few pounds. That confidence booster will have done him the world of good.

Finally, the Oaks is at 4.30pm, and despite defeat in the Irish 1,000 Guineas this can go to Newmarket heroine MINDING . I think she will stay for Aidan O’Brien and on ratings she’s simply by miles the best filly in the race.

So best of luck as we go Classic crazy on the blog. Yeeehaaa!
