Tom Scudamore

Thistlecrack looks to be his big hope for this year chasing his 8th winner at the Festival

Cheltenham Festival winners: 7

World Hurdle favourite Thistlecrack is Scudamore’s big hope this year as he’s guided him to all three victories this season. The 2014 Festival was a landmark week for Scudamore winning three races for David Pipe, two of which in Grade 1 races; Western Warhorse in the Arkle and Dynaste in the Ryanair Chase. Watch out for who he rides in the Byrne Group Plate (he’s won it twice for David Pipe recently) and he currently trails his father, Peter, who rode 13 Cheltenham Festival winners by six. With the Pipe stable looking short of Grade 1 ammunition at present, expect them and Scudamore to be strong in the handicaps as usual.
