The New One remains the stable flag-bearer

The local trainer's best hopes appear to be in the JLT and RSA chases

Cheltenham Festival wins: 15

The locally-based stable trained the 2010 Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander but has only recorded two winners in the last five years – both coming in 2013. Has won the Neptune Hurdle on three occasions, bizarrely with horses beaten last time out on all three occasions. The New One was one of those and remains the stable flag-bearer and bids to make it third time lucky in the Champion Hurdle.

With 13 of his 15 winners fitting into the staying-race category, his best two hopes this season may prove to be his novice chasers, Bristol De Mai (JLT Chase) and Blaklion (RSA Chase).
