Both his victories at the Festival have been for Paul Nicholls (Zarkandar and Lac Fontana) and the ups and downs of jumping racing were no better illustrated than when in the next race after Lac Fontana’s victory he was then thrown off his mount on the way to the start which ruled him out of action for months. Since then, he has been replaced as Nicholls’ number one and is the retained jockey of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede for their British-owned runners. As such, Jacob will be looking for big runs from the likes of Peace And Co, L’Ami Serge, Bristol De Mai and either Sceau Royal or Fixe Le Kap in the Triumph to boost his tally.
