13:20 Sarah’s Verse
A tight handicap. SARAH’S VERSE might be progressive enough to defy a penalty and rain won’t hinder her chances. Bluebell Time, whom the selection beat for her breakthrough success, could be the main threat. Victory Rose can go well provided the ground doesn’t get too wet and Marietty is dangerously unexposed.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:50 Caturra
Three of the runners have similar form but CATURRA has the greatest potential among them. Showdiemlad’s chance would be boosted if the ground is on the slow side. Phinow looks the pick of the newcomers.
14:25 Largo Bay
A maiden handicap in all but name, and it’s a tricky race to call with plenty of the runners looking open to improvement. LARGO BAY and Twilley earn bonus points for having recent course form, so they are the top two on the shortlist. Dancing Master is third choice, ahead of Scheherazade, Tinchoo and Monjazaat. Any market moves should be heeded.
15:00 Appreciate
Mojazaffah ran green and had some traffic issues at Wetherby on her recent debut and it wouldn’t be a surprise if she left that form well behind here. Both Murau and First Connection have shown clear promise and look interesting on their step up to this trip, while newcomers Tipsy Laird and Vin Rouge need checking in the market. However, the vote goes to APPRECIATE, who sets the standard on his eyecatching fourth over 7f at Newmarket in his sole 2yo run and has plenty of scope for progress on his return.
15:35 Moment Of Beauty
The Wetherby novice in which MOMENT OF BEAUTY shaped so encouragingly is working out really well and her stable does particularly well here (35% strike-rate). Fight For It is next best, then Mushirif and Thunder Ahead.

16:10 Wiff Waff
A wide-open race in which the suggestion is WIFF WAFF, who is well treated on his C&D win last summer and returned to form with a close call at Brighton on Tuesday. Glamorous Force beat the selection there and is respected under a penalty, but the main threat could come from Cherish, who came good over 5f here last time and a 2lb rise for that success looks fair. Both Tyger Bay and Katelli are big players if they can transfer their AW form to turf, while others to consider are Twelve Diamonds and Bring The Money.
16:45 Ginger Jam (NAP)
For one who has excelled at Beverley this stiff finish should suit GINGER JAM (nap) and he ran well at Thirsk last time. Newyorkstateofmind is only 2lb higher than when deprived a first turf success by the stewards here last time and he’s feared most. Pettochside always needs respecting and Boom The Groom has returned in good form.
17:15 Rectory Road
On the back of his close second at Salisbury, RECTORY ROAD may be able to go one better and record his first win since joining Alice Haynes. Second choice is Lightning Attack who, like the selection, remains very well treated on his peak form. Far From A Ruby, who may improve for the new trip, is third on the shortlist. Takeonefortheteam, Never Said Nothing and Keeper’s Choice are also in the mix.
