17:10 – Wowsham

Fantastic Rock comes here after finishing second on consecutive starts at Newcastle this spring and is unlikely to go down without a fight but slight preference is for WOWSHAM, who posted a sound effort when third over C&D in a similar race to this three weeks ago. Tartan Cookie showed enough in bumpers to suggest he might also feature.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:40 – Slanelough

It took a long time for SLANELOUGH to get off the mark over fences and his tendency to race a bit too keenly remains a nagging concern but he ought to be able to cope with a 4lb rise for last month’s Ayr success and gets the vote in the hope he can put his experience to good use here. Away At Dawn went very close on his latest hurdle start and is feared most but Irish point winner Morningside can also threaten if today’s sharp drop in trip suits.

18:10 – Bossiney Bay

Dropping back to a more suitable trip, Joie De Vivre looks a big player so it is only narrowly that BOSSINEY BAY is preferred. Oliver Greenall’s mare was returning from wind surgery and a spell on the sidelines when running better than her finish position of seventh at Warwick indicated and she has shown a liking for this course in the past. Countister is dropping in the weights and would be worth considering if the market spoke in her favour.

18:40 – Emirat De Catana

Should the ground go soft, Skyhill would be of some interest after an improved effort behind Hitman Fred last time. The latter has obvious claims but he may have to play second fiddle to EMIRAT DE CATANA, who has struggled since falling at the last when in contention over C&D last summer but showed clear signs of a revival when third in Hitman Fred’s race at Kelso. Astute Boy is one to note after an improved display on his chasing debut.

19:10 – Rock The House

A good winner over 2m4f here last time, Shaws Bridge could improve again over this longer distance. However, the same applies to ROCK THE HOUSE, who scored nicely at Huntingdon last time and should have plenty more to offer. Cage Of Fear, Pitempton Power and Wakool look the best of the rest.

19:40 – Point The Way

Although Magna Sam is not the most consistent, he has every chance of winning this if on a going day. However, POINT THE WAY looks the more reliable and his good second at Musselburgh in March earns him a narrow vote. Royal Chant may prove best of the rest.

20:10 – World Trip

Impressive when scoring over C&D last time, WORLD TRIP (nap) has been found another winnable race and is taken to defy an 11lb rise. African Glory may be able to follow him home, while The Very Thing had an excuse when pulling up last time and boasts form which gives him an each-way shout.
