13:08 Mr Professor

There was plenty to like about MR PROFESSOR‘s debut fifth at Salisbury, considering he took a couple of serious knocks, and he can enhance his yard’s good strike-rate of 2-4 with juveniles here. Little Earl should come on for his Windsor debut, but it will be interesting to see if there’s any market interest in Gabriella’s Spirit, from a very good sprinting family and whose dam won on her debut for this yard.

New to Paddy Power?

13:40 Fashion Advice

The in-form course and distance winner FASHION ADVICE goes well on soft ground and is taken to beat the veteran Duke Of Firenze and the unexposed Ehrmann.

14:15 Euro Implosion

This is tricky. Betty Grable and Whitwell are the two with recent form, but EURO IMPLOSION might be able to make the most of his good mark first time out. Several others could be in the mix, including Ooh La Lah who has had just three starts and could be about to get her act together this season, aided by the switch to handicaps. She is feared most.

14:50 Flammarion

In what looks a particularly weak handicap, bumper winner FLAMMARION (NAP) looks to have a sound chance following his good run last time. Straight Ash looks his main threat.

15:25 Captain Jameson

This is not a race that makes much appeal, and the tentative choice is CAPTAIN JAMESON to score on his second run following wind surgery. It Must Be Faith and Paddy Power look his main dangers.

16:00 Perfect Balance

Unless Green Believer is a talented newcomer, which is possible from Mark Johnston’s yard, this surely lies between Fast Medicine and PERFECT BALANCE – who both found odds-on shots trained by Roger Varian too good for them last time out. The way Fast Medicine has carried his head to his left is a bit disconcerting and preference is for the Godolphin contender.

16:30 Let Me Be

The penalty on top of a revised mark should make it difficult in theory for LET ME BE in his bid for a quick hat-trick, but he looks well equipped for this slog and it is hard to have confidence in many of his rivals running a decent race. If Friday’s win has not taken too much out of him, Let Me Be can score again.

Bollin Neil’s win over 1m 6f on soft ground here in October makes him the chief danger, ahead of recent Pontefract 2m 5f scorer Wemyss Point.

17:00 The Great Heir

All have something to prove, and it is a difficult choice. However, this may be where THE GREAT HEIR scores for the first time since his lucrative two-year-old days, with his fast-closing second on the all-weather in February showing that his new trainer should still have plenty to work with.

Thrave is another who can still prove potent despite his glory days being some time ago and he is second on the list, ahead of Donnelly’s Rainbow and Equidae.
