Kempton debut runner-up Anmaat and debutant Motarajja are also worth considering in an open, but good-looking novice.

REBEL TERRITORY shaped well over this course and distance last time in what has turned out to be a strong race, so he’s selected to take advantage of the weight he receives from previous-winner Beau Jardine. Shadwell newcomers Jawhary (who is seemingly the pick of Jim Crowley) and Almoshahar need keeping an eye on in the market.

There were excuses for BLUE CABLE‘s below-par performance on her fibresand debut at Southwell last month, unable to make much of an impact having got herself too far back early at a track where it usually pays to be prominent. She gets the nod to come out on top here with champion jockey Oisin Murphy booked for the first time. Katelli, Creek Harbour and Englishman look the main dangers.
14:30 Swiss Pride
SWISS PRIDE has a great record over course and distance, so a 4lbs rise for his latest success 13 days ago might not be enough to stop him. Last Page may prove best of the remainder.
15:05 Virginia Plane
VIRGINIA PLANE ended last term with a win in a nursery at Catterick, and took another step forward despite meeting with defeat when runner-up on her return at Ripon 10 days ago – collared only late on after attempting to make all. She’s the type to do better again, and is fancied to make a bold bid in what looks a competitive race. Mister Bluebird and Mutasallem can give her most to think about.
15:40 Gift Horse
GIFT HORSE was a cheap purchase given her pedigree and shaped well on debut at Beverley under two weeks ago in what looked a warm race. There should be plenty more to come from her now and the booking of William Buick catches the eye. That said, Ellade and Lucky Shake are interesting newcomers and support for either in the market should be noted.
16:15 Foresee
A tightly-knit handicap to finish the card, in which FORESEE is taken to go one better than his recent runner-up finish over course and distance. He travelled fluently on that occasion and remains just 3lbs above his last winning mark. Course-winner Compass Point rates the chief threat on the back of his Southwell victory, with Evaporust not taken lightly either despite his absence.
