16:45 – Aish

Black Sparrow will be a tough nut to crack if able to replicate her best AW form on today’s turf debut but AISH made a very promising debut for Robert Cowell when fourth at Windsor recently and, after only four starts, she has plenty of scope for improvement.

New to Paddy Power?

17:15 – Pure Charmer

The most obvious answer is PURE CHARMER, who showed more than enough to suggest she can win one of these Band D races when a clear second at Beverley on Thursday. That said, Mark Johnston was responsible for the filly that beat her there so any market confidence in his newcomer Silver Kitten will need to be respected. Robjon is another newcomer to consider.

17:45 – Fard

Consistent 4yo Gherkin ran well on his seasonal debut at Bath three weeks ago and deserves to get a win on the board soon but slight preference is for FARD, who finished second off today’s mark after making the running at Windsor and is well drawn to attack from the front again. Tavrina has never run in a sprint but last month’s 7f AW form makes her of interest. De Little Engine ran well here yesterday, with Cobra Eye on his heels.

18:20 – Excel Power

Imperial Force has become disappointing since last year’s highly creditable third at Royal Ascot and, although not beaten far, displayed an awkward head carriage when turned over at Newcastle on his seasonal debut. He will need to up his game to beat EXCEL POWER, who dominated from the front at Wolverhampton recently and is open to any amount of further improvement.

18:50 – Spirit Of Iffraaj

It’s not easy to make an entirely convincing case for any of these but SPIRIT OF IFFRAAJ was poorly positioned on the outside of the field before finishing in midfield on last month’s seasonal/handicap at Lingfield, and he ought to be capable of better if he enjoys this switch to fast turf. Night Moment ended his 2yo season on a low note but, as a consequence, resumes on a handy mark. Desert Marathon is next on the list.

19:25 – Alezan

Bounty Pursuit and He’s Our Star ran well in defeat in the same race at Bath three weeks ago and appear very closely matched but neither has won since 2019 and preference is for the younger legs of ALEZAN (nap). Eve Johnson Houghton’s filly wasn’t beaten far when dead-heating for third in higher-grade company on her recent seasonal debut at Kempton.

19:55 – Dancing Jo

Woggle, Musee D’Orsay, Thomas Lanfiere and DANCING JO all come here after good AW runs, and the last-named is given the vote on the basis that he has the most persausive turf record in that group. Thomas Lanfiere was runner-up in a Class 5 handicap on his latest outing and is second choice.
