New to Paddy Power?

17.25 – Beacon Edge

BEACON EDGE has been getting better with every run this season and ran a career best last time when finishing fourth in the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Going this way around might suit him better than the favourite and the fact he was a winner in the past on good ground is a big plus with conditions drying out. With the extra place we’re offering he looks a solid e/w bet.

18.00 – Capodanno

Another race we’re offering extra places and it looks like they’ll be needed as it’s a very competitive handicap but CAPODANNO showed last time that he should prove much better than his mark of 132. He jumped a little novice-y and that probably cost him winning the race but the way he travelled suggests he should be up to winning off this mark. It’s a slight negative that Mark Walsh rides Pure Genius but Jody McGarvey has been in good form of late and is an able substitute.

19.05 – Magic Daze

The handicapper doesn’t have too much between these on ratings but I think MAGIC DAZE will take the beating. She ran a blinder in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, after taking a pull for so long she did well to see out the race, showing us that there’s an engine there. That was only her fourth lifetime start so there should be more to come and the fact she missed Fairyhouse is another plus here.
