17:15 Cash Machine

A few with chances in this maiden, with the vote going the way of CASH MACHINE given he perhaps has the most scope for improvement of the likely principals having had only one previous start, a promising second at Kempton last November. Second choice is Boundless Power, who has his first start for a yard with a good record with new recruits. A decent case can also be made for Show Yourself, Media Guest and Akkeringa.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:45 Miss Seafire

In a race where progressive sorts are thin on the ground, the tentative vote goes the way of handicap newcomer MISS SEAFIRE in the hope that she can get a bit of cover and settle better in this bigger field as she does look to have ability. Love Baileys is second pick under Hollie Doyle, while Swiss Time leaves the impression this much shorter trip could help.

18:15 Breath Of Joy

A useful contest. Shimmering Dawn has a very good course record but she’ll perhaps need the leaders to go hard over this trip so she’s opposed with BREATH OF JOY who had a productive 2020, including winning on her reappearance, and is lightly raced enough to suggest she could go on to even better things this year.

18:45 Highland Dress

May Sonic is very speedy and will likely be able to lead up from the inside stall but he does have a bit to find on the figures. Aljady thrived for Robert Cowell last year and may have even more to come in 2021 but his previous 17 starts have all come on turf. That leaves HIGHLAND DRESS, who found only the really smart Khuzaam too strong in a 7f conditions event here three starts back and will take a bit of stopping if first-time blinkers enable him to recapture that sort of form.

19:15 Murhib

Hard to rule out any of these. Market confidence behind the returning Cochise would bring him into the reckoning, with his Bath success when last seen 18 months ago having been boosted by the second/third. The lightly raced Kempton novice winner Jazz Party is another interesting contender, but the safest option is MURHIB who may be a 9yo but has progressed well this year and his latest C&D defeat of a Mark Johnston improver looks solid.

19:45 Heaven Forfend

A race which to some extent revolves around HEAVEN FORFEND, who scored on easily on turf at Windsor at the beginning of last week and will take a bit of stopping under a 5lb penalty if in the same form. Gloves Lynch has been in good form here of late and can chase the selection home.

20:15 Glenn Coco (NAP)

Most can be given a shout but the one who appeals most is GLENN COCO (nap), who had plenty on his plate with subsequent Nottingham scorer Hundred Isles over 1m here last time and can go one better back at the trip over which he’s gained six of his seven wins. Global Esteem ought to find this easier than the Spring Mile and may give the selection most to think about.
