13:25 Enemenemynemo

Ex-pointer ENEMENEMYNEMO may not have the best form on offer but there was enough promise in his rules debut to suggest he’s up to winning a race like this. The biggest danger is Alright Sunshine, who drops in grade after running in a Grade 2 novice on his last hurdles outing. Olly Murphy’s Jetaway Joey has fair claims of at least a place, as does Brian Hughes’s mount Wowsham.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:55 Landofsmiles

Most of these are in form and the race has an open look to it. LANDOFSMILES will have to eke out a bit more improvement if he’s to complete a hat-trick from a revised mark but he’s flourishing and may do just that. Peur De Rien, another with a win last time behind him, is feared most. Seemorelights has something to prove after two below-par efforts but recent wind surgery could be the catalyst to a return to form.

14:30 Castle Rushen (NAP)

All bar Threeunderthrufive are attempting 3m for the first time and several of them are bred to improve for the extra yardage. With that in mind, CASTLE RUSHEN (nap), who has been brought along patiently by Nicky Richards, makes the most appeal. The form of his third place at Kelso last time has been boosted significantly since by the winner and runner-up. Stoner’s Choice, who has the best form so far and is unlikely to go down without a fight, looks the biggest danger ahead of Ocean Drifter.

15:00 Fortescue

A competitive Class 3 handicap chase featuring an array of progressive individuals, not least the January Exeter scorer Francky Du Berlais and the thoroughly likable FORTESCUE. Under the expert guidance of Richard Johnson, Henry Daly’s 7yo gelding posted a career-best performance when winning at Sandown last month, so assuming that he can get to grips with the forecast drier underfoot conditions he’s probably the one to beat.

15:35 Serious Ego

It’s possible to construct cases for quite a few of these. Lively Citizen had an excuse for a below-par latest effort, while True Romance could be ready to strike after two recent runs on the Flat. Oakley Brown is a positive booking for McGowan’s Pass, who has to prove his effectiveness on drying ground but is second on the list nonetheless. The vote goes to SERIOUS EGO, who was seriously impressive at Haydock and got no further than the fourth last time.

16:10 Lady Chuffnell

This is competitive. Last-time-out winner Bellaney Gem should go well again under Brian Hughes, while Calliope is consistent and has performed with credit on both her previous visits to Perth. There could well be better to come from the unexposed pair Headscarf Lil and Southern Girl (second choice) on their handicap debuts, but LADY CHUFFNELL already has solid form to her name, and with the step up in trip likely to suit she gets the vote.

16:40 Morozov Cocktail

It will be interesting to see whether MOROZOV COCKTAIL or Arnica responds the more favourably to the addition of cheekpieces. However, the selection has shown overall improvement since switched to handicapping and was beaten by only the progressive J’Ai Froid at Doncaster in January. Of the remainder, signs of market support for World Trip would offer encouragement for her over what promises to be a more suitable trip.

17:15 Champagne Lilly

The recent Carlisle scorer Lissen To The Lady will relish this extra yardage, while a fit and ready-to-roll Taras Day would also enter calculations. However, the least exposed member of this field is the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained CHAMPAGNE LILLY. She kept on most pluckily when runner-up on her handicap debut at Huntingdon four weeks ago and should prove capable of winning from this mark.
