Dundalk 13:10 – Cadamosto

It’s normally the way to the poorhouse backing the multiple champion trainers’ juveniles on their first outing, however, this term could well prove a different proposition. Aidan O’Brien has had a clean run at all of the horses in his care unlike last term when Covid blighted the season. The team are operating at a remarkable 41 per cent strike rate at present and it may well be another year of total domination  on both sides of the water. The juvenile division are already on the scoresheet and Cadamosto can add to that tally.

New to Paddy Power?

    Lingfield 13:25 – Requited

Requited has just dropped a massive 21lbs in the handicap all the way down to a rating where he has to be competitive. Two of his four lifetime wins have come at this venue – with one of them over course and distance. You can put a line through his last run and his previous effort over a furlong further around here. It was a solid effort suggesting that a drop back to the minimum is what is required to gain another victory.

    Dundalk 15:25 – Sinseir

Sinseir is just another one on the long line of horses who looked very harshly treated with an initial handicap rating of 70. A change of trainer and dropping down to a more realistic 49 rating has seen him get competitive as he showed last time over this course and distance. He gets the addition of a tongue tie and cheekpieces to help him focus and a change of rider suggests that they mean business for this assignment. Watch the market as this team don’t often leave it behind.

    Wolverhampton Races

    Lingfield 16:25 – Enfranchise

Is the only runner on the card for trainer Mark Johnston yard and surprisingly the team’s only runner on a fairly busy Flat afternoon. This daughter of Invincible Spirit is out of a Group One winning mare who used to be trained by Jim Bolger. On what we have on paper, Enfranchise needs to produce an effort in a high 70s to 80 rating to comfortably take this novice contest. Ben Curtis is starting to settle into his new job and the winners are flowing.

    Lingfield 16:55 – Fauvette

Fauvette has slowly got better with each start to date rounding off with a pretty comfortable victory over six furlongs at Kempton. She was quite a big individual last term and with the winter on her back is bound to have improved and strengthened up into that frame. Stepping back up in distance is going to prove ideal and she looks to have most to fear from the favourite Princesse Animale who is looking for the three-timer.

    Wolverhampton 17:05 – Belafonte

Belafonte has slowly improved since stepping into the handicap ranks with a much better effort last time at Kempton when stepped up in distance. Another step up to the extended 1m 1f now looks sure to suit as he really started to power home late in the day last time. Richard Kingscote comes in for the ride on what could prove his strongest chance of the evening.

    Wolverhampton 20:15 – Desert Friend

Desert Friend set off in his career like a rocket, winning two of his first three starts but has been missing for a little while over what looked inadequate trips. However, he stepped up to the two miles last time and showed a bit of the old sparkle when working his way into contention late on, despite being given plenty to do from the back of the pack.

He looks sure to improve at his second try over course and distance.
