16:15 Walk Me Home

The opening action in the sunny South East is a 3m novice hurdle where Mt Leinster Gold has been impressive so far in her career, the mare has won three point-to-point starts and also a novice hurdle at Fairyhouse the last time out when making all.

That was over 2m, so she is stepping up further in trip which should suit and Colin Bowe will be hoping she can run another big race. But, I fancy the only previous course and distance winner in the line-up and that is WALK ME HOME.

She managed to win here last August, but since that victory has had mixed fortunes when beaten favourite last time out. However, she has in-form jockey Jody McGarvey in the saddle, who had a brilliant Fairyhouse riding two Grade 1 winners. The jockey is bang in form and this horse has a chance to get back to winning ways.

18:25 Dr Mikey

This is a 2m 4f Handicap Chase. Fine Theatre for local Paul Nolan has won over course and distance in the past, but has ran quiet poor in most recent runs. Ornua, who ran list weekend, is making a quick reappearance in this one too.

However, I fancy DR MIKEY to run a solid race. He won at Listowel back in September 2019 and had been off the race track for over 540 days when returning to a three-runner race at Leopardstown last month.

He finished third and was beaten a long way, that was despite contesting the lead at one stage before making a bad mistake and hampering his chances. However, I expect him to be fitter here following that run and conditions will suit. I expect this gelding to run well at possible an each-way price.

18:55 Notice To Close

Getaday was a last time out winner at Thurles and will be hoping to win again, but I fancy NOTICE TO CLOSE to run a big race. This gelding had won three on the bounce before disappointing the last day when pulling up at Naas, when never getting involved. He has had an absence since.

He has ran here in the past when finishing a distant fourth on that occasion, but has came on plenty since that run. This is a much weaker race and the switch back here, along with the change to Sean O’Keeffe in the saddle can bring a big improvement.

19:25 Whispering Waters

The finale on the card is a handicap chase where WHISPERING WATERS for Martin Brassil and Grand National winning jockey Ricky Doyle team up. I expect mare to go well, as she was a very impressive winner of a 2m race on heavy ground 30 days ago. She is stepping up further in trip, but that should really suit.

Of her rivals Pegase Amour is an interesting runner. He was previously trained by Hugh Burns, but is now trained by Liam Lennon, so could go well thanks to the change of yard. But, Whispering Waters has enough to win a race of this nature and get back into the winners enclosure.

Wexford tips summary:

16:15 Walk Me Home
18:25 Dr Mikey
18:55 Notice To Close
19:25 Whispering Waters
