13:50 Sky Commander (NAP)

Quite a useful handicap. SKY COMMANDER (nap) shaped well when second on his recent handicap/seasonal debut and he is taken to build on that promise. Fellow low-mileage sort Riot is a potentially dangerous opponent, with the Gosden team persevering, particularly if the market vibes are strong. Ghaith has made a solid start to 2021 and is also on the shortlist.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:25 Dawn View

Noble Queen (second choice) and New Look are consistent sorts who are likely to be on the premises but narrow preference is for DAWN VIEW, who has been placed three times at this venue in 2021 and a 2lb drop for her latest third may be enough to see her get her head in front.

15:00 Saucy Encore

The form of SAUCY ENCORE’s latest effort looks solid for the level so she might be the answer to this trappy affair. Thomas Lanfiere’s keeping-on fourth at Kempton suggests this return to 1m is ideal so he’s feared most ahead of last-time-out 1m2f scorer Anniemation.

15:35 Khatm

A penalty for Monday’s win at Wolverhampton may not leave KHATM looking the best handicapped and this race is also a higher grade, but he has been a prolific scorer in recent weeks and faces just a handful of opponents, none of whom is as persuasive as the likely winner. Gloves Lynch may follow him home this time.

16:07 Zabeel Champion

The latest rematch between Habit Rouge and United Front should be a tight affair, with the former perhaps the one to come out on top, as he did 15 days ago. However, ZABEEL CHAMPION looks the type to raise his game significantly this season and although he is arguably more likely to do so over 1m4f, he might nevertheless make this a winning reappearance.

16:37 Highland Rocker

Unless the betting speaks strongly in the favour of their debuting stablemates it’s highly likely this will develop into a straight fight between Inigo Jones and HIGHLAND ROCKER. There’s nothing to separate them on RPRs but the latter has had one less outing so perhaps has the scope for greater improvement.

17:07 Kabuto

This doesn’t look the strongest of 3yo handicaps and the two to concentrate on could be KABUTO and Spirituoso, progressive types with a good second in similar company on their most recent outings. Narrow preference is for the former. Realist and Rwanda Mist finished in the second half of the field on all their 2yo starts but could improve for today’s longer distance on their handicap debuts.

17:40 Margaret Dumont

Recent third and second places could be followed by a win for MARGARET DUMONT, who didn’t get the rub of the green when narrowly beaten last time. Champs De Reves lacks a run this year but still appeals the most of the remainder.

18:10 Silent Witness

Alice Haynes has had a couple of winners since SILENT WITNESS had her debut for the yard at Kempton last month so this lightly raced mare might be able to build on that run and make it 2-3 in handicaps. Sir Hector (second choice) and Excellent George arrive in form and head the dangers.
