13:00 Hope You Do

An unconvincing bunch on the whole, with HOPE YOU DO afforded another chance. A bumper winner in France, he flopped when a strong favourite at Warwick in December, but he was clearly thought capable of better and is well worth another chance to confirm that seemingly big reputation. Confirmation Bias has been disappointing over hurdles, but this is an easier assignment in first-time headgear. Meanwhile,  Kost A Coat is another to note.

13:30 Prince Llywelyn

PRINCE LLYWELYN has looked a shadow of the horse he was in bumpers since sent jumping, but he ran well in first-time cheekpieces back in this sphere at Exeter last time in what was a fairly competitive race for the grade.

A reproduction of that form may well be good enough to see him come out on top here. Kendelu has done well over hurdles and should continue in form now sent chasing, with winning pointer Stung For Cash not taken lightly either.

14:00 Danny Kirwan

DANNY KIRWAN put his experience to good use when opening his account over hurdles at Ascot in November, but has struggled upped significantly in grade the last twice. This represents an easier test back down in grade and he could prove too classy for penalised winner Beyond The Pale, who rates the main danger back from a break.

14:30 Definite Dilemma

DEFINITE DILEMMA remains a maiden under Rules (point winner), but has a much more consistent profile than the rest of this opposition – finding only a next-time-out winner too good at Fontwell earlier this month.

He remains relatively unexposed over fences and appears to have been presented with a good opportunity here. Mine’s A Pint is nicely treated if bouncing back to form after a short break.

15:00 Sashenka

SASHENKA was fairly useful on the Flat and has made an encouraging start over hurdles, looking set to win comfortably (four lengths up and yet to be asked for effort) when falling at the second-last at Catterick earlier this month. She looks on a decent mark now handicapping for the first time in this sphere.

Decent Flat mare Jedhi, a first ever runner here for North Yorkshire handler Jedd O’Keeffe and could prove a different proposition faced with a sharper test than previously over hurdles.

15:30 Ballybough Nora

A first taste of success over fences beckons for BALLYBOUGH NORA, who has largely acquitted herself well since switched to this sphere and emerged with credit when fifth in the Devon National at Exeter last time.

Dropping back in trip here will be in her favour and she’s now 1lb below her winning hurdles mark. No No Juliet is worth taking on, so Whatsdastory and Cushuish are put forward as the main dangers.

16:00 Getaway Cory

GETAWAY CORY was noted finishing with running left in a novice hurdle at this venue last month, and appeals as the type to improve for this longer trip now handicapping. As a result, he is marginally preferred to The Knot Is Tied, who is more exposed but his runner-up effort at Doncaster is a persuasive piece of form at this level. Powerful Position is another likely to progress now allotted a mark.
