13:45 Kempton – Global Giant

This could it be a dream start for the new trainer and son combination of John and Thady Gosden up in Listed company together for the first time. Our selection GLOBAL GIANT is already proven at this level and set a fair standard for the others to a match.

He went very close in the Bahrain International Trophy and we can put a line through his last effort in Riyadh. as on the dirt he struggled to get a foothold. Back here at Kempton, he is going to be tough to beat.

14:00 Doncaster – Juan Elcano

JUAN ELCANO has proven to be a little bit of a cliff horse, but we are following him over for one more occasion as he finally reverts back down to what I believe is his best distance. After a fantastic run in the 2000 Guineas, he was gradually upped in trip to 10 furlongs and then last time out over a mile-and-a-half. He has been gelded since we last saw him and back down over the right trip could see him bounce back to form.

14:15 Kempton – United Front

Our trainer Michael Appleby is convinced that UNITED FRONT is nowhere near his ceiling rating at the moment and recently put him forward in a trainer file as a horse to watch. He was arguably unlucky last time out, he was held up off a very steady gallop and added to that he was impeded over a furlong out, just failing in a head bobbing finish. Being slightly up in distance looks sure to suit and with a more guaranteed pace, he can outrun his odds for the all-weather champion trainer Appleby.

14:35 Doncaster – Arctic Vega

ARCTIC VEGA managed to get his head in front last time when stepped up to a more adequate distance after continuously finishing strongly over shorter last season. Newcastle is not the easiest track to try and make all, but he managed to do that rallying late on for a comfortable success. The gelding has been raised 5lbs for that, but young jockey William Carver negates that handicap penalty and he has room for improvement yet.

15:10 Doncaster – King Ottokar

KING OTTOKAR always manages to find himself a little bit of trouble in running, but there is no doubt he has the natural ability to land a big pot like this. He is positioned on the far side of the track, so he’s going to need a little bit of help in the early stages as he has to be produced late in the day.

Graphite on the other hand is returning from a mammoth lay-off and goes for one of the newest trainers in Newmarket Terry Kent. He had some serious form up at a very high level when trained over in France, but is obviously been difficult to keep sound. If he is fit to go he’s flying under the radar at a massive each-way price.

15:45 Doncaster – Royal Commando

ROYAL COMMANDO’s form tailed off a little bit towards the end of last year, but his early season form when finishing third in the Commonwealth Cup up at the highest level is excellent. The Charles Hills yard always like to be strongly represented at this meeting and the team can be relied upon to be well forward in their work from a fitness perspective. Brando sets the standard with an official rating of 116, but he’s not getting any younger and Royal Commando can give him plenty to think about at an each-way price.

14:00 Doncaster – Juan Elcano
