15:00 – Three by Two
A two-mile maiden hurdle that doesn’t look the strongest contest. I am going to side with Three by Two for the in-form partnership of jockey Rachel Blackmore (20 per cent strike rate the last two weeks) and trainer Henry De Bromhead (16 per cent the last two weeks) who was a good third on racecourse debut at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago to Mt Leinster Gold. She sat out the back on that occasion and came with a late burst, but unfortunately the winner was gone.
I expect this mare to be ridden more prominently and take advantage of her 7lbs allowance and expect her to be bang there at the finish.
A 2m mares’ handicap hurdle and last time out course and distance winner (C&D) winner Quarry Lil will be fancied to double up on her recent success when staying on very strongly and winning quite comfortably.
Nells Well was a beaten favourite last time out, but 5lb claimer Ambrose McCurtin reported the mare was showing signs of been in season so should leave hat run behind her now. The track and trip should suit and she will be ridden close to the pace.

16:30 – Crack on Corrie
A 2m 3f handicap where Hilltop Supreme has won two of his last three starts but I fancy previous C&D winner Crack on Corrie to go well. Dropping back in trip will suit and a return to Clonmel should suit – as should Simon Torrens 5lb claim – in a race of this nature.
17:00 – Queen Of Fame
A 3m handicap hurdle and where Knock Na Rea was a last time out winner, while Chelsea’s Friend who has a win and two placed efforts in her last three starts, will also hope to run another solid race. Top jock Rachael Blackmore takes the mount, but I like Queen of Fame to get her name in lights.
This seven-year-old’s form is far from ideal with 0020 in her last four runs, but that runner-up finish two starts ago was a staying on second at Punchestown at 100/1. Young up-and-coming jockey Jordan Gainford is on board and has started his career really well with a 21 per cent strike rate. This is his only ride on the card and I expect this filly to run into a place.
