16:40 Wolverhampton – Tomorrowland
Didn’t pull up any trees or look particularly well treated on his first try in handicap company at this venue. However, it was a different story last time when held up off what was not a particularly strong gallop to finish sixth.
A look back at that run is all the more eye-catching as he travelled smoothly into contention and wasn’t given a hard time. Adam Kirby has been booked, so it looks like they mean business.
17:00 Dundalk – Settle For Bay
It seems he’s starting to be a bit of a cliff horse for us, but I keep looking back at how spectacular he was when doing us a favour a few runs ago.
He’s still dangerously well handicapped and if you look at the run style of all the horses who finished in front of him they were up handy or on the lead last time.
He was the only runner in that contest to finish from the back of the pack, so let’s hope for a little bit more luck here for David Marnane’s former Royal Hunt Cup winner.
17:45 Wolverhampton – Fred
Has a spectacular pedigree and it is only recently that things seem to be clicking into gear and just maybe he has strengthened into that big frame.
He’s been pretty friendless in the market the last couple of runs but surely we have to sit up and take notice of his potential now everything seems to be coming together. He’s coming off a career best effort at Chelmsford last time and he can step up again now.

18:30 Dundalk – Laugh A Minute
Laugh A Minute was a very smart type when trained in the UK by Roger Varian and has continued to run to a decent level for new connections – as you would expect as he cost 100,000 guineas at the horses-in-training sale.
The Aido McGuinness yard have been having a fantastic run globally with the horses they have purchased and this lad looks to be coming to the boil after a rather unlucky second to his stablemate Harry’s Bar last time out. This outfit spend their money wisely and he will start to repay some off that purchase price very shortly.
19:00 Dundalk – Sideshow Bob
Sheila Lavery’s runner has been knocking on the door recently and was a little unlucky behind the record-setting winner at Dundalk, Togoville, last time. He has since gone on to frank the form again at this tracks in pretty spectacular fashion, so Sideshow Bob’s run may be even stronger than it looked.
The winner was always up on the front-end or close to the pace, while Sideshow Bob just ran out of ground towards the finishing line. There’s plenty in our favour now though.
20:15 Wolverhampton – Tricorn
Ian Jardine’s runner has dropped like a stone in the handicap recently after being a solid triple-digit runner. Sometimes they just don’t fit with a trainer’s regime and he may well find an extra gear again now he’s switched to the new stable. His wins-to-run ratio is not particularly impressive but I keep looking at the fact that he now sits 39lb below his pomp rating and surely he will be winning soon.
