*** UPDATE *** RACING AT PUNCHESTOWN HAS BEEN ABANDONED DUE TO A WATERLOGGED TRACK ***

14:45 Wall of Fame

A 2m 4f maiden hurdle with very little strong form to go on. Livings Boy An Co for Noel Meade was a good second last time out over similar conditions at Fairyhouse and if repeating that would have a chance, but I fancy Gordon Elliott’s runner WALL OF FAME.

He has had two previous point-to-point starts when placed on both outings. The form is solid as the two horses that beat him in both his point-to-point starts have since go on to win races, so he really sets the standard. I expect him to make it a winning debut.

15:20 Micro Manage

Not the strongest of races over 2m, MICRO MANAGE for Willie Mullins sets the standard. This horse was beaten favourite at Leopardstown last time out when third. But, he has rUn in Group 3 action on the Flat at the Curragh and obviously has plenty of speed. The going is described as possibly heavy, which is not ideal. But, if he’s setting the fractions from the start, I reckon he could make all here.

15:55 Some Neck

A 3m handicap hurdle on heavy ground, so this will take plenty of stamina. Dallas Des Pictons was third of four when last seen, so will need to be stepping up on that form if getting involved. But, SOME NECK should have a big say.

This gelding was a good winner of the Cross Country Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in December, having been fourth lengths down jumping the last fence and managing to get up on the line. He’s dropping back slightly in trip, which should not be an issue and even though he is the oldest in the race this 10-year-old, he still retains plenty of ability and should go well.

16:25 Emily Roebling

A mares maiden hurdle over 2m 6f. Humble Glory has won here in the past over slightly shorter and second last time out and should have a chance, but I like EMILY ROEBLING.

She was third in a 3m race when not disgraced only beaten six lengths when going off a massive price of 80/1. She is also the only runner and ride for both trainer and jockey (Gerard Kelleher and Simon Torrens). At a decent price, I expect this one to run into the prizemoney.
