14:40 Sojourn (NAP)
Sojourn remains lightly raced despite being an eight-year-old, and he made a successful return to action for the third season in a row when regaining the winning thread at Carlisle in November, looking too well handicapped for a mostly far more exposed bunch, running them ragged under a positive ride.
He was raised 11 lb for that victory but travelled as though still on a fair mark when second at this venue last time, shaping well under a change of tactics, though a patient ride probably didn’t show him to best effect, not making use of his bold jumping, which is one of his strongest assets. He remains a potentially very smart staying chaser and looks the one they all have to beat.

Bold Plan showed useful form over hurdles, not least when running out a two-and-a-half-length winner at this venue back in November 2019, value for a bit extra on that occasion too given how far back he came from in a race that wasn’t run to favour such tactics.
He made a promising start over fences when fifth in a warm beginners’ chase at Uttoxeter in October, coming in for a considerate ride, and he built on that to open his chasing account at Exeter in December, pouncing late to lower the colours of The Big Breakaway. He remains open to further improvement and makes plenty of appeal on his handicap chase debut.

15:50 Look My Way (E/W)
Look My Way shaped as though in need of the run on his first two outings of the season, but he bounced back to something close to his best when second at Chepstow on Boxing Day, chasing home a thriving rival in Mint Condition, finishing well clear of the remainder.
He clearly needed his two outings to put him straight, and he should remain at peak fitness after a spin on the Flat in a Newcastle jumpers’ bumper earlier this month. He is certainly worth a crack at this three-mile trip and looks the way to go in a competitive-looking affair.
