12:30 Muckamore

It might pay to give another chance to unexposed seven-year-old MUCKAMORE, who was a beaten favourite in his first two chases but ran well for a long way at Exeter on the latter occasion. If a subsequent wind op proves successful, could be hard to catch in this lower grade.

Dusky Lark has regressed in recent years, but last month’s Newbury fourth was a pretty good effort and he might well be seen to better effect on this right-handed track. Overworkdunderpaid has done well for his new stable and should also go well.

13:00 Bignorm

Most of these have a good deal to prove, but BIGNORM deserves to find a race and he may yet have a bit of improvement in him over fences. Joey Steel looks the main danger, but this will be a stiffer stamina test than at Fakenham and cheekpieces didn’t do much for him the only previous time they were fitted. Ring The Moon and Friary Land are preferred of the remainder.

13:30 Detatched

En Coeur has the potential to build upon last month’s breakthrough Plumpton success, while there’s a good chance Goldencard will make his presence felt again. But, DETATCHED (NAP) is very unexposed as a chaser and might be the answer.

Henry Oliver’s nine-year-old sprawled on landing at one of the fences before finishing third on last season’s chasing debut at Sedgefield. But, he jumped well in the main there and looks quite well handicapped if judged on November’s hurdle win.

14:05 The Bay Birch

Kapga De Lily has won her last four and it’s hard to tell when her progress will end, but this is tougher than her latest assignment and preference is for THE BAY BIRCH. She has dropped to a tempting mark and comes here after a good effort at Kempton. Arian took a heavy fall at Cheltenham last time, but she won her first two starts for Philip Hobbs and is also strongly considered.

14:40 One For Rosie

Mick Pastor doesn’t have Shishkin to worry about this time and remains a good chasing prospect, but ONE FOR ROSIE was a very promising hurdler for Nigel Twiston-Davies in 2019 and is an interesting alternative on today’s debut for Kim Bailey. Monsieur Lecoq is preferred of the remainder.

15:15 Chameron

The most obvious answer is CHAMERON, who has some useful rules form on his CV and easily won a Larkhill open point when last in action. Envoye Special is also very talented and his point debut in December was perfectly respectable, but this extended 2m 6f on slow ground might stretch his stamina and seven-time point winner Matts Commission may pose a more sustained threat to the selection.

Heavy-ground point winner Wayupinthebox ran well for a long way in a recent Ludlow hunter chase and might be worth a small each-way investment if fancy odds are available.

15:47 Premier Magic

The race looks less competitive than Division 1 and could provide PREMIER MAGIC with a good chance to make a winning rules debut. The Bradley Gibbs-trained eight-year-old drew nicely clear of a useful hunter chaser when winning a soft-ground open point in December.

I’m Wiser Now has some quirks, but will be dangerous if able to transfer last season’s hurdling form to fences and he’s feared most. Caviar D’Allen has rules form on heavy ground and may also feature.
