A few facets to this race and DUNDRUM WOOD is only marginally preferred, having seemingly improved for cheekpieces when winning at Newcastle in December. Definite Dilemma nearly rewarded connections’ patience at Warwick but this is a quick return for one who had been off the track a long time. Le Milos and Landofsmiles are much respected, too.

After a promising British debut at Sandown, Hystery Bere should be winning races for Tom Symonds in due course, but he meets an unexposed rival in SAGE ADVICE, who still holds an entry in the Triumph Hurdle and looks the one to beat.
15:23 Cougar’s Gold (NAP)
It was only a narrow win for The Crooner at Leicester last month, but the form is working out well and a 7lb rise does not look insurmountable. He commands plenty of respect but preference is for COUGAR’S GOLD (nap), who should have his ideal conditions today, figures on a handy mark and comes from a yard that has been among the winners recently. The well-handicapped Acaro carries risks but would be dangerous if ready to go after a year off.

This is wide open. Kenny George and the progressive Alkopop boast solid recent form, while Just Henny and the unexposed Havacuppa return to Fontwell after passing the post first and second in the controversial race here in November in which most of the runners were disqualified for taking the wrong course. Of those four, Havacuppa is particularly tempting, but the vote goes to the well-bred MR KATANGA, who looks open to improvement as he embarks on his handicap career. Unblinking has fallen in the weights and is another to consider.

It’s been a long road back but YOUNG TURK has been given every chance by the handicapper and he could have been found the right opportunity after running his best race in Britain at Plumpton recently. Love The Leader looks sure to run well and is the main danger, ahead of Un Prophete.

Newcomer Cigarettesnalcohol fits the bill on paper and would be feared if strong in the market, but the verdict goes to the stoutly-bred BARROWMOUNT, whose proven ability to handle these testing conditions could turn out to be crucial.
