18:40 Moonbootz

Trainer Karl Burke’s horses are in red hot form at the moment, working off a 30% strike rate. What is even more impressive is that those that are not winning are making the frame. MOONBOOTZ caught the eye in his latest outing when not giving jockey Megan Nicholls the easiest of rides, as he hung left at Wolverhampton.

Despite giving away a few lengths, he finished second behind a hot favourite. The tongue strap is on for the first time for this handicap debut, which might just be enough to find some improvement and get Moonbootz over the line. The recent return to action, plus the fact he is lightly raced, means he is open to improvement unlike some of his rivals.

19:40 Sound Reason

There’s a small field with just the five runners in this Novice Median Auction Stakes and SOUND REASON really looks the bet on the card at Newcastle on Tuesday. A twice raced maiden, he ran a cracker over course and distance a few weeks ago.

What was so impressive was the improvement shown from his debut performance back in June. The impressive Trainer/Jockey combo (Kevin Ryan and Kevin Stott) will expect nothing short of a victory.

This race won’t take much winning with a couple of exposed runners who have shown very little to date. Ooh Is It is likely to be the main market rival, but showed nothing on debut and will need to improve.

19:40 Sound Reason
