Ruby Walsh has picked out four who could prove handy for punters at Punchestown and Exeter on Sunday.
Speaking on the latest episode of Paddy Power’s From The Horse’s Mouth podcast, our resident jockey-turned-pundit named a quartet of selections who could come good on a weekend badly impacted by poor weather.

2.00pm, Punchestown – Thedevilscoachman
I really like THEDEVILSCOACHMAN. I thought he was really good at Navan when he beat Visionarian and Riviere D’etel – it was a really striking performance and Punchestown will suit him. He looks a quick horse.
Fire Attack could actually go along here – he is hooded for the first time – but he was way too keen behind Dreal Deal on his last start. Uhtred is interesting while Power Of Pause is consistent – he was third in the race Fire Attack fell in last time out – but I was really taken with Thedevilscoachman.
He only ran 16 days ago but he would be the one for me.
4.10pm, Exeter – Does He Know
(Inspection at 8.30am)
I fancy DOES HE KNOW. He’s a real improving novice and is in the Pertemps Qualifier here. He will have an alternative at the festival – you can see him in the Albert Bartlett or even the Ballymore, so he will be heading for more than just qualification from this race.

4.30pm, Punchestown – Midnight Maestro/The Big Dog
I’ve got two I fancy in this. One is MIDNIGHT MAESTRO for the Bolgers, with Mark Walsh on board down at 10st2lbs. Walsh could have ridden Castle Oliver but he has gone for Midnight Maestro. He was a good winner at Leopardstown on his last start.
The other is THE BIG DOG. I think there is a big race in him, and he’s really well handicapped. He was third reserve in the Thyestes, but went to Navan where he was third behind Mr Hendricks and Lord Royal. He was third behind Longhouse Poet at Punchestown and he was third behind Colreevy, also at Punchestown. Trip will suit him, track will suit him and Jamie Codd riding him at 10st11lbs was also eye-catching as well. We don’t know if he is eyeing the Kim Muir or something else down the line, but The Big Dog definitely caught my eye.
