16:30 Everkllachy

It has been 14 runs without a win for EVERKYLLACHY, but she has been in good form of late, shaping better than the bare result. That was again the case when second over this course and distance last time. Awkward leaving the stalls, Everkyllachy was left poorly placed as the race began to develop. But, she stayed on well for second, nearest at the finish, and she remains one to be interested in.

17:00 Open Mystery

OPEN MYSTERY showed promise as he ran to a fair level on debut at Newcastle in December, racing prominently – but a lack of experience just costing him late on. Although he strictly didn’t improve on that effort at this venue subsequently, no match for the winner, he did finish well clear of the remainder of the field. His fifth at Southwell last time is probably best overlooked, not seeming to take to the surface, but his previous exploits leave him with sound claims in this field.

17:30 Rockett Man

ROCKETT MAN is speedily bred and demonstrated as such after being dropped back to 5 furlongs at Chelmsford last time, showing improved form to get off the mark at the third attempt. Rockett Man travelled with zest and, after taking over in the lead over a furlong out, quickened clear for mostly hands-and-heels riding. He appeals as the type to go on progressing, particularly now stepped into handicap company.

18:00 Mack The Knife

After failing to beat home a single rival in his three starts for Jamie Osbourne, MACK THE KNIFE has shaped with considerably more promise since joining James Fergurson’s yard. He was not seen to best effect when fourth on his handicap debut at Kempton in December, and shaping well once more when fifth at Wolverhampton last time – again not seen to best advantage. He remains with potential and this step up in trip may help unlock improvement, not to mention the fact that Daniel Muscutt is taking over in the saddle.

18:30 Kaser

KASER wasn’t seen to best effect when fifth at this venue last time, racing very wide in the back straight. But, he has undoubtedly fallen to a workable mark – a winner at Wolverhampton from 4lbs higher last year – and he certainly need considering. He is a five-time winner at this course and comes out top on Timeform’s weight-adjusted ratings, so could be worth chancing at the forecast prices.

19:00 Yankee Stadium

YANKEE STADIUM ran with plenty of credit without getting his head in front for Aidan O’Brien in Ireland. He shaped well on his first outing for George Scott at Chelmsford last month, just leaving the impression that the run was needed after three months off.

The remains an air of untapped potential about him, particularly as he is primarily dirt bred on his dam’s side. With a run now under his belt, he is a leading player on his tapeta debut.

19:30 Pallas Dancer

PALLAS DANCER got off the mark in first-time cheekpieces over this course and distance in December, seeing out the longer trip well under a strong ride. Given that race has since worked out well, it wasn’t a huge surprise to see him go in again at Newcastle last time  again in cheekpieces and again getting the job done under a strong ride. He is clearly going the right way at present and makes the most appeal in his search for the hat-trick.
