RED ALLURE made her fibresand debut at this venue last week. She took to the surface extremely well, in the lead early on and fending off some strong challenges before being edged out by one on the other side of the track. She is still unexposed on this surface and holds solid claims of going one better in a race that lacks depth.

14:05 Miss Seafire

Campachoochoo’s debut win sets the form standard in this race, but she has an eight-month absence to overcome. It could be worth siding with Karl Burke’s newcomer MISS SEAFIRE, who makes plenty of appeal on paper. A £50,000 yearling, this Dandy Man filly is a half-sister to three winners, and is certainly one to note on debut.

14:35 Drew Breeze

DREW BREEZE showed improved form as he resumed winning ways over this course and distance earlier in the week, taking his tally to two wins in his last three runs. He was suited by the way the race developed on that occasion, but he won readily in any case and is clearly very effective on this surface. A 5lbs penalty may not be enough to stop him going in again.

15:05 Delph Crescent

A switch to Southwell’s fibresand surface seemed to benefit DELPH CRESCENT as he bounced back to something like his best to regain the winning thread at this venue last time, taking advantage of a much less competitive affair than he’d been contesting previously. This is a tougher race, but he shouldn’t be ruled out given he is still low-mileage on this surface.

After belatedly opening his account at Newcastle in December, staying on to lead close home having been stepped back to 6 furlongs, ATRAFAN didn’t need to improve to follow up in game fashion over the same course and distance last time – again getting up late. He has only been upped 2lbs for that victory and is likely to remain competitive in his hat-trick bid.

16:05 Double Dealing

DOUBLE DEALING shaped with plenty of promise amid greenness when third on his debut back in June, and he belatedly confirmed the impression he made on that occasion when getting off the mark at Lingfield last month. He showed improved form to win in good style. He remains with potential and this looks a great opportunity for him to add to his tally.

16:35 Pearl Of Qatar

PEARL OF QATAR has been knocking on the door of late, finishing placed in her last three outings, including when a half-length second to Qaaraat at this venue last time. She did well under the circumstances on that occasion, diving right on leaving the stalls and soon behind, but catching the eye as she finished well.

The step back up in trip should be to her advantage and, with a better break this time around, she is taken to reverse the placings with the reopposing Qaaraat – with whom she is 2lbs better off at the weights.
