15:40 Minella Indo (NAP)
Delta Work, Kemboy and Melon have all produced better efforts over fences than Minella Indo in their careers, but it is Henry de Bromhead’s charge who has the Timeform small ‘p’ attached to his rating, denoting potential for further improvement, and that is just what is expected from a horse who was one of last season’s best staying novice chasers.
Second to Champ in the RSA, Minella Indo made a highly satisfactory start to the season, landing graded races at Wexford and Navan with the minimum of fuss, confirming his status as one of the most exciting chasers in training. He was sent off favourite for the Savills Chase at this venue last time, but a rare jumping error saw him crash out at the eighth. He had jumped well to that point though and jumping is generally a big asset of his, so he can be forgiven that outing and he looks well worth another chance here.

16:40 Brandy Love (NB)
Brandy Love, who was unextended when successful on her sole outing in points last year, came in for plenty of support ahead of her Rules debut at Fairyhouse in December, and she made a seamless transition to bumpers, providing Patrick Mullins with an armchair ride, impressively drawing clear approaching the final furlong. She looks a grand sort and is sure to go onto better things. She tops the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings in this contest and, in a field consisting of five Willie Mullins horses, she is the one that will take all the beating.

14:40 Frontal Assault (E/W)
Upped markedly in trip, Frontal Assault showed improved form to finish a half-length second at Thurles back in November, and he built on that performance to go one better at the same venue last time, the application of first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect. Frontal Assault coped best with the test of stamina on that occasion, and actually had a bit more in hand than the bare margin suggests.
He stays very well and appeals as the type to improve a bit more yet. He is an interesting contender on his handicap debut and is certainly worth siding with at the current prices, particularly with Paddy Power paying out on the first six each-way.
