The Dublin Racing Festival takes place at Leopardstown this weekend, with punters treated to packed cards on both Saturday and Sunday.

Host Tom Nugent was joined by former jockeys Ruby Walsh and Mick Fitzgerald as well as expert tipster Frank Hickey and the main man Paddy Power on a special edition of the From The Horse’s Mouth podcast previewing the weekend, with all four pundits giving their banker bets for the festival.

Ruby Walsh

1.35pm, Saturday – Chacun Pour Soi
4.25pm, Saturday – Ramillies

For value, I would go with RAMILLIES and for a shorty CHACUN POUR SOI.

Chacun Pour Soi has beaten Min at this trip before and I fancy him to do it again. He looks in really good form at home and over 2m he has too many gears for Min. He’s a fast horse with a really high cruising speed, and on soft ground he could be an even better horse.

Willie Mullins has plenty of strength in depth in the finale on Saturday. Patrick Mullins has opted for Kilcruit but to me Ramillies was visually more impressive when winning at Christmas.

Paddy Power

2.45pm, Saturday – Epson Du Houx

I’m going for one of Henry de Bromhead’s in a nice open handicap for a bit of value – EPSON DU HOUX.

I started with The Shunter in this race but I was really impressed with Epson Du Houx. He was visually impressive at Naas and looked very progressive. He’s obviously up in the handicap but Henry de Bromhead is having a cracking season and I think he will be very hard to keep out of the frame.

1.10pm, Sunday – The Getaway Star
3.40pm, Sunday – Minella Indo

MINELLA INDO will win the Irish Gold Cup and I think that one who will hopefully be a price is THE GETAWAY STAR.

Minella Indo fell in the Savills Chase at Christmas when 5/2 favourite, but he had been jumping really well before that fall and the RSA form is working out fairly well.

The Getaway Star beat Larquebuse in a Fairyhouse bumper at the Easter festival in 2019 when landing a bit of a punt. She bolted up that day and followed up at Cork when beating Getaway Gorgeous.

She was well beaten at Listed level at Navan and then was second to Panic Attack in a Market Rasen bumper before coming fourth on hurdles debut in a Down Royal Grade 3 over 2m. She was second to Royal Kahala over 2m4f at Fairyhouse and, while that was a little disappointing, she has proved to be well above average when third at Tramore on her next start in a race which Minella Escape won and Gorki D’airy finished second.

Mick Fitzgerald

2.10pm, Sunday – Appreciate It
2.40pm, Sunday – Julies Stowaway (Each-Way)

I’m going to go for a shorty in APPRECIATE IT, and then JULIES STOWAWAY of Margaret Mulins’ each-way.

It is very hard to look past Appreciate It – he should make it three from three over hurdles. A win would be ideal in the build up to the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Julies Stowaway made a bad mistake at the last at Fairyhouse which stopped her in her tracks. She is not badly handicapped and is a good each-way play in what looks a a trappy race.
