16:40 Bumble Beee

BUMBLE BEEE built on the promise of her debut run when opening her account over course and distance in September with plenty in hand, proving much too good in what admittedly was a weak contest. She was well held in heavy ground on her final start at Catterick, prominent in the betting but struggling from around two furlongs out.

Bumble Bee was possibly unsuited by testing conditions that day and is worth another chance to build on the positive impression she made when winning at this track dropped into claiming company.

17:10 My Girl Maggie

MY GIRL MAGGIE is thriving at present and is building a solid record at this track. She shaped with promise at Kempton and Lingfield before opening her account over a mile-and-a-half here in December and followed up in good style on her next start, seeming well suited by the step up to this course and distance.

My Girl Maggie ran just as well in defeat when finding only a well handicapped sort too strong here last time, giving way only late on and leaving the impression she would be well suited by the return to this trip. She is hard to oppose now as she’s able to race from a 1lb lower mark now.

17:40 Slowmo

SLOWMO has done most of his racing this winter on Southwell’s fibresand surface, but is equally as at home on this tapeta and should make a bold bid from his handy inside draw. He is now 3lbs higher in the weights, but is a solid selection up against Scale Force – who leaves the impression he may be building up to something and can provide the chief threat ahead of John Quinn’s Indian Pursuit.

18:10 Repertoire

REPERTOIRE has put up some useful efforts in defeat for leading French trainer Andre Fabre and will be very tough to beat if he’s anywhere near that level today. He was purchased by new connections for 50,000 guineas at the Autumn Horses-In-Training sale and appears to have been found an excellent opportunity. Moonbootz finished runner-up twice at this track last year and he may have to settle for silver once again.

18:40 Bombastic

Though not at his best here last time, BOMBASTIC went down all guns blazing off this mark on his penultimate start at Lingfield and a reproduction of that would give him every chance in this open-looking heat. Eldelbar absolutely bolted up over this course and distance on Sunday and will be a big danger if turned out quickly. But, if not, the selection may have most to fear from Blame Culture and Critical Thinking.

19:10 Lottie Marie

LOTTIE MARIE has finished runner-up on her last two starts, but there is nothing wrong with her attitude, as she showed when winning in tenacious fashion at Chelmsford in December. That was just her second start for this yard, and she is holding her form well, so another bold bid is expected with a useful claimer taking 7lbs off. She’s narrowly preferred to Red Poppy, with Stay Classy also on the radar dropping in grade.

19:40 Woodview

A few with chances, but WOODVIEW is on an upward curve so is hard to look beyond – with his Kempton second proving really strong form for the grade. Destacado also arrives at the top of her game and is feared most, although both dual course and distance winner Spirit of Rowdown and Newcastle-victor We Still Believe warrant plenty of respect too.
