1.30pm, Doncaster – Shishkin
ITV coverage at Doncaster gets under way with this Grade 2 novice chase over an extended 2m. Not really a betting heat with the odds-on ante-post favourite for the Arkle SHISHKIN in action. The Supreme winner looks outstanding, although he faces a talented rival in Eldorado Allen so it will be nice to see him slam that rival for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson. Cheddleton and Fast Buck are also no mugs.
2.05pm, Doncaster – Floressa
Now a Grade 2 mares’ hurdle over an extended 2m. Not much between Floressa, Marie’s Rock and Miranda, but FLORESSA has to be the one for Henderson and De Boinville once again. She has to give 2lb and more away and was outclassed at Kempton last time. That said, her success at Newbury the time before and her ninth in the mares’ hurdle at Cheltenham should be good enough.
2.20pm, Lingfield – Swiss Pride
On the all-weather here for a 6f handicap. SWISS PRIDE is bang in form and will take a bit of beating for Roger Teal and George Rooke. He’s gone off favourite the last twice and did nothing wrong when scoring last time. Has only gone up 2lb.

2.40pm, Doncaster – Ask A Honey Bee
Now a Grade 2 novice hurdle over an extended 2m4f. This is wide open. I’ll have a few quid each-way on ASK A HONEY BEE for Fergal O’Brien and Paddy Brennan. My hope was a decent third behind Make Good at Cheltenham last time and coming back in distance will be a help. Strong place claims.
2.55pm, Lingfield – Pirate King
On the all-weather here’s a 1m4f handicap. Not easy this. PIRATE KING is not well handicapped but runs this course and distance well for Charlie Fellowes and Kieran Shoemark. He disappointed last time but prior to that has been a fine second to Al Zaraqaan and despite 10st4lb he could be hard to stop.
3.15pm, Doncaster – Aye Right
Arguably the big betting race of the day in a handicap chase over 3m. A good betting heat and I’m hoping the stamina of AYE RIGHT will come into play for Harriet Graham and Callum Bewley. My hope was a fine second to Cloth Cap in a decent handicap at Newbury two runs ago and had a spin in a bumper to keep the fitness up when last seen. 11st7lb is a big weight to hump off a mark of 151 but he must have each-way claims.
Horse Racing tips: Paul Jacobs’ 3 value plays for Saturday
3.30pm, Lingfield – Catch My Breath
Another handicap here over 1m. CATCH MY BREATH is in excellent form and can get the hat-trick up for John Ryan and the excellent apprentice Laura Pearson. The son of Bated Breath won off 63 two runs ago and 69 last time. He goes off 69 again here and provided it does not come too quick should take some stopping from a good draw.
