5.00pm Dundalk – Sideshow Bob
SIDESHOW BOB has been knocking on the door very loudly over this course and distance on the last three occasions. They have decided to put the hood on this time to try and get him to settle a little better down at the starting stalls as that is where he leaves his races behind. Given an even start, he should be bang on the premises as he has always had the dreaded “never nearer” comment in the race reviews recently. He looks reasonably treated and connections take off another valuable 5lbs with Dylan-Browne McMonagle booked to ride.
5.45pm, Wolverhampton – Fleur Irlandaise
FLEUR IRLANDAISE is in cracking form at the moment looking for the three-timer and surprisingly the handicapper has been very lenient in only raising her a tiny 8lbs for two very snug victories. She’s rated 134 when over hurdles, so given the 45lb adjustment between the two disciplines, she still looks well handicapped on a mark of 68. Joe Fanning is again in the saddle and she has been placed excellently by her handler for another victory.
6.30pm, Dundalk – Casanova
CASANOVA was a decent performer when trained by John Gosden and seems to have really focused and got his act together after the gelding operation. He has been away from the track for some time but connections have booked the services of Irish champion jockey Colin Keane. That should fill us with confidence that he is ready to go on reappearance.
He produced a cracking effort in a heritage handicap at Ascot over this distance and a reproduction of anywhere near that form should be far too good.

7.15pm, Wolverhampton – Seb’s Welcome
SEB’S WELCOME has shown next to nothing in three starts so far back in 2020 and has been handed a very decent-looking rating of just 55 on the back of those efforts. A valuable 7lb is off his back with young Callum Hutchinson in the saddle, equating to him starting on a very lowly mark of 48. He’s a half-brother to three runners rated 89, 93 and 96. Don’t get me wrong – I know Elvis had a brother and he couldn’t sing a note, but this looks an opportunity with him jumping up half a mile in distance.
7.30pm, Dundalk – Lady Andaz
LADY ANDAZ is another former John Gosden inmate who has already run one decent race for new connections over 7f at this venue. Popping down to the 6f sprint trip for the very first time would suggest that she will be ridden aggressively by the Enforcer, Declan McDonogh. She has a wonderful pedigree, being a half sister to Terebellum, and it’s vitally important that she gets a victory on the board for her second job in the paddocks when she retires. That would make her £60,000 purchase tag very reasonable indeed.
8.15pm, Wolverhampton – Rayyan
RAYYAN as been called a few names in the past and hasn’t always look the most straightforward, including when being disqualified for hanging left-handed across the track at Southwell. He’s got loads of ability and can be the horse to get his trainer off the cold list, despite being given the car park draw out in stall number 10. Manumission looks the improver on handicap debut for the new stable but he will need to be absolutely match fit if he is to lower the colours of the more experienced Rayyan.
