13:10 Jumira Bridge

JUMIRA BRIDGE was a near-smart performer at his best and has returned to form to take advantage of a lenient mark the last twice, winning with any amount in hand at Wolverhampton last week. There is still plenty more mileage in his mark based on the pick of his form too, and he looks very well treated turned out under a 4lbs penalty. This looks another good opportunity, and he is hard to oppose.

13:40 Canimar

CANIMAR is a long-standing maiden, but it is hard to ignore her claims on these terms. She comes out well at the weights due to the conditions of this race and arrives in good form having found only one rival too strong at Wolverhampton last time. Canimar seemed to appreciate the return to more positive tactics that day, and this looks a very good opportunity for her to belatedly open her account.

14:10 Glint Of An Eye

GLINT OF AN EYE showed ability when trained by Joseph Murphy in Ireland and displayed her first form for these connections when finishing a close fifth at Wolverhampton last time. She was one of the least exposed in the field and shaped well given there was a lack of pace on, which didn’t suit horses who were held up. Glint of An Eye makes appeal now able to race from a 1lb lower mark and should be competitive if building on that.

14:40 Glen Again

This looks an interesting maiden despite the small numbers and GLEN AGAIN is sure to be suited by the step back up to this trip, having looked outpaced by a good prospect over a mile at Newcastle last time. He didn’t improve much from his debut form, but he was sent for home quite a way from the post that day.

A positive ride round this track over this two-furlong longer trip will suit him down to the ground. There should be even more to come from him and he ought to prove too strong for the well-bred Yankee Stadium, who is having his first start since leaving Aidan O’Brien.

15:10 The Good Ting

THE GOOD TING was well backed and duly resumed winning ways at Kempton 12 days ago, always travelling well and staying on strongly in the closing stages to get up near the line. That was only a modest handicap, but she has been found another good opportunity here and is fancied to record a third career success. Nurse Florence and Spark Fury both shaped better than the result in a messy race at Lingfield on Friday and also make some appeal.

15:40 Puffin Island

PUFFIN ISLAND finished nearer last than first in three starts on minor/maiden company, but showed her first piece of solid form on handicap debut at Kempton earlier this month. That wasn’t the strongest race, but neither is this and she deserved extra credit for finishing as close as she did given that she was left poorly placed – with the principals already gone by the time she got rolling.

Puffin Island steps up two furlongs in trip now, but she is bred to improve for it. She is more interesting than most she’ll meet at this level.

16:10 Gold Standard

Tony Carroll has been in good form since the turn of the year and GOLD STANDARD looks the percentage call here. He is a consistent sort who wasn’t seen to best effect in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up at Lingfield earlier this month.

The winner received a trademark Adam Kirby ride, kicking clear of his rivals on the home turn. Gold Standard closed all the way to the line and should remain competitive from the same mark with the headgear retained.
