13:50 at Warwick – Next Destination (NAP)
This is the epitome of quality over quantity. Only three runners but they’re well matched. I’m with the top of the market, Next Destination. He’s a top horse that used to be trained by Willie Mullins but I think he’s up against two really good novices and this will be a cracking contest.
14:05 at Market Rasen – Edwardstone
I’m going for Edwardstone. I think his Supreme form is the best on offer. He ran well enough in the Grade 1 hurdle as well but fell over fences on his only try on his last start. I think Edwardstone will out class this lot.
14:25 at Warwick – Adrimel
I’m going for the one horse that I think could be a Ballymore Novice Hurdle horse come the Festival and that is Adrimel of Tom Lacey. He’s under Richard Johnson. It beat Firak in a point-to-point and won two bumpers at Uttoxeter and Doncaster before he bombed out at the Cheltenham Bumper.
You can’t blame any horse for not handling the Cheltenham Bumper. He’s won his two starts over hurdles at Haydock and Sandown. He steps up in trip and with the cheekpieces on for the first time. I think he’s the one horse in here that could be the genuine Grade 1 horse.

14:40 at Market Rasen – Mohaayed
On The Blind Side is the best horse in the race in my opinion. Lil Rockerfeller, I think he’s there to be shot at. He’s tough and he’s admirable but he’s not the horse that was 2nd in the Stayers’. I’m going to go for Mohaayed of Dan Skelton.
He had his first try at 3m on his last start and was ridden way off the pace and looked like he stayed. Dropped back a bit in trip, I think Bridget Andrews might ride a little closer to the pace and the fact that On The Blind Side had such a hard race last weekend at Kempton means I’m going to go for the fresher Mohaayed.
15:00 at Warwick – Le Breuil
I’m going to go for the horse who was 5th here last year, Le Breuil of Ben Pauling. He did, of course, win the National Hunt Chase at The Festival two years ago. Made a couple of mistakes at Aintree in December but he’s got Kielan Woods riding with 10 stone 6 on his back. Le Breuil for me.
15:15 at Market Rasen – Grangee
Willie Mullins runs Grangee who was a good winner in Galway. Eileendover has an incredible post-race rating of 152 – that’s very high for a bumper horse. She only has 10 stone 3 on her back with Paul O’Brien riding.
I can’t desert Grangee. She surprised me when winning in Galway and she’ll probably surprise me if she wins again but it will be a pleasant surprise. Grangee for me.
15:35 at Warwick – Potters Corner (e/w)
I’m going for Potters Corner. He’s a 150-rated chaser. He’s 132 rated hurdler and he only needs to finish in the top six to qualify which I think he’ll do. So, I’ll have Potters Corner each way.
