12.45pm, Wolverhampton – Jumira Bridge

JUMIRA BRIDGE clearly isn’t the force of old and while he hadn’t shown anything in five runs for Derek Shaw, he did bounce back to form last time at Newcastle when just beaten by a neck off a mark of 59. He was unlucky there, as he didn’t get the clearest of runs and he gets to run off the same mark here. It is only last June that Jumira Bridge was rated 86 and while it is unlikely that he will reach those heights again, he makes plenty of appeal now off his lowly mark, now that he has found some form.

2.55pm, Wolverhampton – Toronado Queen

TORONADO QUEEN was very poorly positioned last time out, when held up last off a very steady pace and she did extremely well to finish as close as she did in second. The winner, Moonlight In Paris, is very progressive and that looks like a very strong effort from Toronado Queen. She gets to run off a 3lb lower mark here and on her penultimate start, she finished second to Amniarix at Kempton over a mile, with daylight back to the third. Amniarix was winning off a mark of 77 and she easily won an all weather qualifier on her next start, suggesting that she is worth a rating in the mid 90’s at the very least. Those two runs from Toronado Queen suggest she has a race like this in her and hopefully she will get a strong pace to aim at.

6.15pm, Kempton – Amtiyaz

Rock Eagle might be a tough nut to crack here but he has to concede 19lbs to AMTIYAZ and that might prove tough. Amtiyaz took for runs to get off the mark but he followed up in fine style on his handicap debut off a mark of 82 and last time here over two miles, he didn’t get the best of runs having to switch two furlongs out and by time he picked up, it was too late. That race developed into a sprint after a sedate early pace, so having to switch at such a crucial point in the race had a massive impact on Amtiyaz chance. He should get a stronger pace to aim at here and I believe that a mark of 87 still underestimates his ability.
