12:25 – Masteroftheheights
Masteroftheheights made a successful debut in a Fontwell bumper back in September, and he confirmed that form to a large extent when sixth at Cheltenham the following month, looking more of a stayer in a truly-run race. His debut over hurdles was an encouraging one as he finished third at Wetherby in November, jumping well on that occasion, but he fell at the first on his subsequent outing at Wincanton last time. He is worth a second chance however, and should be firmly in the mix.
12:55 – Fresh New Dawn
Fresh New Dawn is yet to score over fences, but he arrives here in good form, hitting the frame in each of his completed starts over the larger obstacles. He was unlucky to bump into such an unexposed rival when second at Warwick in November, and he was hardly disgraced when fourth at Wincanton last time. He looks to have a little in hand from his current mark and should prove difficult to beat.
13:25 – Group Stage
Group Stage made a successful hurdling debut at Ludlow last season, looking better the further he went as he made the switch from the Flat, but he has failed to find his way back into the winners’ enclosure since, though he was tasked with a couple of tough assignments, namely the Scottish Triumph Hurdle and the Fred Winter. He is yet to hit his stride this term, disappointing in his three outings, but he has been eased 2 lb in the weights and has definite claims if the application of first-time cheekpieces has the desired effect.

13:55 – Achy Breaky Heart
A dual point winner, Achy Breaky Heart shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when fourth on her debut for Milton Harris over this course and distance last time, not fluent under a patient ride but still holding place prospects when all but coming down at the last. She has a good chance on the pick of her form and is certainly one to consider.
14.25 – Terrafirma Lady
A lightly-raced maiden, Terrafirma Lady ran to a fair level to finish an excellent third at Wincanton last month, shaping like a strong stayer, and she should have much more to offer now sent handicapping. This step up in trip should also show her to much better advantage and a bold showing is anticipated.
14:55 – Love The Leader
Love The Leader may be entering the veteran stage of his racing career but he is back down to his last winning mark now, and he seemed perked up by the application of a visor at Wincanton last month, turning in his best effort of the season as he finished second under a positive ride. He is a big player on that evidence and is expected to be bang there.
15:25 – Tiny Tantrum
Tiny Tantrum was gambled on ahead of his debut at Huntingdon last month, and he duly showed plenty to work on, just a bit too green to really trouble the front pair. He remains capable of better, and with that outing under his belt, he gets the vote to open his account.
