RAJSALAD will represent more value here against the Willie Mullins hotpot in the opening 2-mile maiden hurdle at Limerick on Sunday. The Conor O’Dwyer trained four-year-old was third for Benny Walsh at Lingstown before coming second to Ganapathi on his rules debut at Cork in November. He’s bound to come forward for that performance and could well see off both Capodanno, who disappointed at Clonmel and Kalkas, who was well beaten on his Irish debut a Navan.

Emma Twomey gave KAVANAGHS CORNER a fantastic hold-up ride to win the Ladies National at Fairyhouse last month and despite a rise of six-pounds in the ratings, the Henry de Bromhead veteran can strike again today. The second horse at Fairyhouse, Braeside has finished second again at Navan for Gordon Elliott, while his fourth-placed finish to Chatham Street Lad at Ballinrobe reads extremely nicely after the Mick Winters trained runner won the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham earlier this month in impressive fashion. The Gavin Cromwell trained Jurby is the obvious danger and should improve for a comeback run over hurdles at Punchestown earlier this month.
15:10 Land Jet (E/W)
LAND JET is just one of several runners here making a first run in a handicap company having shown very little in numerous maiden hurdles to date. The lightly raced four-year-old comes here following his recent run at Cork in November with a rating of 94 today for the Joseph O’Brien team. I’d expect improvement from the son of Jet Away on his handicap debut today and with Oakley Brown already guiding home a winner for O’Brien this week, his extremely valuable seven-pound claim could make all the difference.
15:45 Noble Yeats
The closing bumper at Limerick on Sunday has not been a great race for favourite backers – just one winning jolly in the past 10-years. Grady Hollow is having a first start for Henry de Bromhead having beaten just one-horse home when winning a Castletown-Geoghegan point-to-point in October. He’s currently favourite for this race (at the time of writing), but I’m going to side against him with NOBLE YEATS.
The five-year-old runs on debut here for Emmett Mullins having previously finished second at Ballindenisk for Donal Hassett last December. There’s already been market support for him in recent days and giving connections, owned by Paul Byrne, it would be no surprise if another Mullins / Byrne gamble can be landed in the last at Limerick this Sunday.
