Navajo Dawn hasn’t won for eight outings, but she has slipped down the weights as a result and is now 10 lb lower than her last winning mark, which incidentally came over this course and distance. Her recent results probably don’t do her too much justice either, running into trouble in her last two outings, and she has a good chance on the pick of her form.
12:31 Attaboy Roy
Attaboy Roy has been shaping well in his recent outings, and none more so than when finishing second at Newcastle on Tuesday, looking in control entering the final furlong but just nabbed close home, he and the winner pulling nicely clear of the remainder. He looks very well treated off the same mark and is difficult to oppose on his fibresand debut.
13:06 Fighter Pilot
Fighter Pilot had shown promise behind a couple of above-average types at Newcastle on debut, and though he hasn’t been able to build on that since, he has shaped with encouragement in his two subsequent outings. He ran respectably to finish second on his handicap debut last month, without really looking at home over five furlongs, but this step back up in trip should show him to better effect, and he looks the one they all have to beat.
13:46 Spring Romance
Spring Romance has really taken off since joining Michael Appleby’s yard, winning two of his three starts, and he is expected to give another good account in his bid for the hat-trick. A winner at this venue on just his second outing for his new yard last month, Spring Romance had little trouble following up under a penalty at Kempton three days on, quickening well to settle things in a matter of strides. He must shoulder another penalty here, but he is thriving at present and it is possible we haven’t seen the best of him yet.
14:20 Parallel World
Parallel World landed back-to-back victories at this venue last year, and he remains less exposed than most he’ll meet this winter, so makes plenty of appeal now returned to a track he has never finished outside the top two at. He ran a cracker at Newcastle last time as well, doing well under the circumstance and looking like the best horse at the weights, sticking to his task as he and the pair that finished narrowly ahead of him pulled clear of the remainder. He is 4 lb clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings and is one to be taken very seriously.

14:55 Palazzo
Palazzo bounced back to form after a short break when finishing second at Newcastle last month, and he built on the promise of that effort to go one better over this course and distance last time, repelling a late challenge from the runner-up – who has boosted the form with a subsequent success. Palazzo is up 4 lb for that win, but all three of his victories have come over this track and trip, and he has a good chance on the pick of his form.
15:25 Drew Breeze
Grimsthorpe Castle arrives here in good form, his recent victory at this venue the best performance of his career, but he carried Drew Breeze across the track on that occasion, and considering the runner-up that day is now 1 lb better off at the weights, he could be worth chancing to reverse the form. That was Drew Breeze’s first outing for Ivan Furtardo, and a new stable could be just what the three-year-old needs to up his game.
