A hard race to call. DANDY SPIRIT could be capable of overcoming an 11lb hike for her course and distance win last week, especially from stall one. That’s Mad is close by in stall three and will be suited by dropping back to 5 furlongs while right beside him.
Another Equiano gelding, Stanhope has fallen to a mark off which he could be dangerous off. Lough Cutra showed initial promise and could be interesting if the change of scenery works. You could make a case for plenty others.
16:30 Lay It Out
LAY IT OUT should have the measure of these. She showed ability on the turf and ran a good race from a bad draw here last month. It’s not ideal that she has to give weight to everything, including the 82-rated Split Passion who has the benefit of Sam Ewing’s claim, but she is the most likely winner. Queenship wasn’t far behind Lay It Out when exceeding expectations on debut and should be involved again.
17:00 Porterinthejungle
Jared Maddox, St George’s Head, Indiana Grey and Overtake have claims, but possibly the most interesting piece of form coming into this is the race Power Of Lazarus and PORTERINTHEJUNGLE contested just over a fortnight back.
They finished second and third in that order, but Porterinthejungle was trapped wide throughout and can be expected to turn the form around. She may be 0-14, but has a live chance of ending the drought if building on that solid effort.
17:30 Bluebeard’s Castle
One Cool Poet is the class act, but has a lot on his plate after such a long absence. Last year’s winner Bold Approach appears to be finding his form, but recent maiden scorer BLUEBEARD’S CASTLE has a more progressive profile, as does The Names Jock to some extent.

18:00 Ballinlough Gale
A few of these have run to a similar level, but a chance is taken on BALLINLOUGH GALE who was a good second at Thurles in October and shaped like a return to this longer trip would suit on his most recent start. Zofar Zogood looks capable of winning a maiden and rates as the main danger.
18:30 Tower Of Pisa
The useful chaser Quamino is interesting on Flat debut, particularly in what looks a weak maiden, but he might be vulnerable to TOWER OF PISA (NAP) who created a nice impression on debut here. The daughter of Golden Horn shaped as if she would relish this longer trip and she ought to progress from that here.
19:00 Share The Honour
A wide draw is a little off-putting as far as Magi Gal is concerned, but she ought to run well from her new mark and Crescent Lake is another who should be competitive from his revised rating. However, preference is for SHARE THE HONOUR, who returns to all-weather for the first time since his course and distance success on debut. He’s been given relief from the handicapper and a useful apprentice claiming 7lb may help him get his head back in front.
19:30 Settle For Bay
Pulse Of Shanghai has to be respected in his four-timer bid, but SETTLE FOR BAY ran an encouraging race in behind that rival the last day and the well handicapped four-time course and distance winner might be worth chancing at a likely bigger price. Geological is another course specialist to consider.
