However, none of those sets a particularly high standard so this may go to hurdling debutant GAMALOU D’ALENE, who showed ability in a bumper and hails from a good jumping family.

The most obvious candidates are Miss Gemstone and Theatre Mix, both of whom hold realistic claims. MUSE OF FIRE has something to prove on his chasing debut after a break but this point winner could well go close.

Midnights’ Gift and Miranda are solid contenders but MARADA (nap) looks on a favourable mark for her handicap debut and appeals most.
14:05 Fagan
The last time he ran over fences FAGAN was pulled up in the 2018 Scottish Grand National (for Gordon Elliott; favourite); it’s been a long road back but he ran with conspicuous promise over hurdles at Aintree last month and could be the answer to this trappy handicap. Truckin Away heads the dangers.
14:35 Golan Fortune
An intriguing contest containing four useful hurdlers, three of whom have to prove themselves over fences after rather inauspicious starts at this game. Champagne Well should appreciate this longer trip but has not convinced in his two chase outings, while Follow The Bear was tailed off last time and Stoney Mountain was a faller on his only other try in this discipline. Given those concerns, the vote goes to GOLAN FORTUNE, who is a winning pointer and makes his chasing debut on the back of a solid effort over hurdles last time.

Booley Beach sets the form standard but there are any number of debutantes from top yards who appeal. Groovy Kind and Meadowsweet are two likely sorts but LEXI’S CHOICE appeals on breeding and the yard can do little wrong at present.
