12:50 Captain Morgs
CAPTAIN MORGS shaped very well once the penny dropped in a Warwick bumper on debut, finishing well for second, and he made an even bigger impression when making a winning start over hurdles at Ascot last month, looking a potentially useful prospect. He is sure to go on to better things and should be more than capable of landing this race before having his sights raised.
13:25 Shishkin
SHISHKIN, who looked an excellent prospect in winning his first two completed starts over hurdles, duly built on that with a gutsy performance in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He belied a market drift as he stayed on to lead in the final 50 yards, he and the second pulling well clear of the remainder. He is very much chaser on looks and should have little trouble making a winning start over fences.
14:00 Indefatigable
After bouncing back to her best with victory in a Warwick listed race, INDEFATIGABLE took a big step forward to land the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival in March – making up a remarkable amount of ground in the latter stages of the race, finding plenty against the rail to lead on the line. She was thrown in at the deep end on her Flat debut at Lingfield last month, but that should have at least served as a pipe-opener. She should prove difficult to beat now returned to hurdles.

14:35 Lock’s Corner
LOCK’S CORNER ended last season in top form, winning his last two races before the break and he picked up where he left off at the beginning of this term, landing the odds over fences at Southwell and at Bangor. He built on those wins when runner-up over hurdles at Cheltenham last month, confirming himself still in top form. This progressive sort is taken to make his return to chasing a winning one.
15:10 The Domino Effect
THE DOMINO EFFECT proved himself a horse going the right way when third at this venue on his final appearance of last season. He occupied the same position on his return to action last month, not seen to best effect given the steady pace. He remains an interesting handicap prospect, particularly now stepped up in trip. Although he will likely make a better chaser than a hurdler, he should prove capable of opening his account in this sphere.
15:45 Pisgah Pike
PISGAH PIKE made the most of a good opportunity to run out an easy winner at Hexham in September, and he improved on that when a narrow second in a Market Rasen Listed event later the same month. He likely to have been a clear-cut winner had the race not been run over Market Rasen’s trademark extended distance. He quickly resumed winning ways at Plumpton subsequently, making routine work of the victory. He looks to be fairly treated now returned to handicapping, so he is taken to go in again.
