16:00 Arwen Forta

Falcon Du Roc’h is open to plenty of improvement and is respected on his seasonal debut. Lots of these have bits of interlinking form, three are making a fairly quick return to the track having ran here on Monday. Of those, Zayin Zyperion is narrowly preferred, his last two starts suggest his turn isn’t too far away.

Mawarid would hold major claims if on a going day and behaving himself in the stalls. Whilst Al-Tabari was given a fantastic ride when he beat three of today’s rivals in a slightly higher grade last time out, he has to be feared if coping with the step down in trip. The pick though is ARWEN FORTA who was behind Al-Tabari last time out; she’s won here previously and should be suited by the step back down in trip.

16:30 Beau Geste

The return to this venue should be to the advantage of BEAU GESTE, who won three times here last winter and has been performing well since returning in June. Recuerdame also likes it here and should finish closer to Beau Geste than at Kempton last time where he encountered all sorts of trouble. Amor Fati has the ability to figure if they go quick enough for him up front.

17:00 Aweemaweh

There may still be more to come from the three-year-old filly Must Be An Angel, while Rogue Tide should appreciate the return to this course and distance. However, preference is for course winner AWEEMAWEH who ran well in a better race at Chelmsford last time on his first start since being gelded. Fibresand winner Amadeus Grey is another to consider if as effective here.

17:30 Athmad

Both ATHMAD and Cityzen Serg won over C&D seven days ago and although the latter remains open to improvement being a three-year-old, the former recorded a time nearly a second quicker and he can complete the hat-trick. Zafaranah and Star Of Valour would have a chance on their running behind Athmad here at the start of the month, but the winner looked to have improved again since, so a bigger danger may be the unexposed Convertible.

18:00 Romantic Song

Some interesting types make their debut here with Sea La Rosa perhaps the pick and the market should be informative, but a couple of these have already shown a good level of ability. Pomelo has something to prove after blowing out in the soft ground when sent off a warm favourite for the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood in August.

But, although bred to handle the surface she may struggle to concede 7lbs to ROMANTIC SONG. The Godolphin filly has shown enough in both starts to think she is up to winning something like this and her breeding strongly suggests she will relish the longer trip.

18:30 Kusnacht

Those with previous experience don’t set quite as high a standard as a couple in the first division, with Divine Magic possibly the best of that group following last month’s promising Newcastle debut. However, there are some newcomers with classy pedigrees from major yards among the field, not least KUSNACHT and Mawenzi. Preference is marginally for the former with her sire having a slightly better record with his offspring around here in the past five seasons

19:00 Global Vision

Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to James Tate’s well-related colt GLOBAL VISION, who stayed on strongly when third in a novice here 19 days ago and is open to further progress upped to 7 furlongs on his nursery debut.

Other nursery newcomers Glesga Gal and Wurlitzer are feared most, though Always Dreaming didn’t get much luck at Newcastle last time and looks interesting on this drop back in grade. Host has each-way claims, while another who could be in the mix is Bomb Squad.

19:30 Clinician

Eagle Creek was a last-gasp winner over Beauty Choice at Chelmsford three weeks ago and this looks an interesting rematch between the pair. They are respected along with Kapono, who has raised his form to a new level with his win and close call over 7 furlongs at Newcastle on his last two starts.

However, the vote goes to Sir Michael Stoute’s lightly raced three-year-old CLINICIAN (NAP), who followed her C&D win with a creditable second at Kempton last time and is open to further progress on this return to Tapeta.

20:00 Dance To Paris

A trappy staying handicap. Last year’s third DANCE TO PARIS is likeably consistent and saw that rewarded at Kempton last time off only 2lb lower. Amtiyaz wouldn’t be obviously well treated but is the one to improvement.

20:30 Kick On Kick On

A chance is taken on KICK ON KICK ON. Although on a losing run, off a reduced mark there have been more encouraging signs of late on the turf and he ran perfectly well on his last visit here a year ago. Centurion Song shaped nicely after a break last time, and the booking of Crowley bodes well, so he’s the second choice, ahead of Lilkian.
