You know the drill by now and if you don’t it’s time to pin your ears back as we’re one down and just five to go ahead of Saturday’s Millionaire qualifier at Ascot 3.17.

Each week, for the next five weeks, simply pick a horse to win one of the qualifier races to be in with a chance of bagging a million quid in Paddy Power’s Millionaire Chase on New Year’s Day at Cheltenham.

All you have to do is click this handy OPT IN link and then place a winning bet of a minimum of £/€5 on any of the weekly qualifying races through the Paddy Power app or Paddy Power website from November 14 through to December 19.

If you back the winner you then go forward to the weekly online draw on our social channels the Monday after each qualifying race. If your name is picked out, you will then go forward to the mega New Year’s Day sweepstake race at Cheltenham.

And did we mention the weekly draw winner gets a £/€10k prize? Consider it mentioned.

And if you haven’t had a chance to study the form yet – fret not – here’s a runner-by-runner guide to Saturday’s qualifier with the help of our close pals at Timeform.

We’re good like that, so here goes…

Magic Saint

Beat a subsequent Grade 2 winner at Newbury last year and stepped up on reappearance when turning in a high-class performance at Cheltenham 8 days ago. 7 lb rise makes it tough but he’s in good hands.

Capeland

Improved when readily landing this corresponding race last year. Didn’t really build on that and failed to complete on return here but no surprise to see a return to form now fitted with cheekpieces.

First Flow

Useful 2m hurdler who has progressed into a smart chaser, scoring 4 times. Easily completed the hat-trick when landing the odds at Carlisle 8 months ago and he’s respected if ready to roll.

Abbey Magic

Useful chaser who confirmed the promise of her reappearance when grinding it out down in trip at Cork 5 weeks ago. That took her chasing record to 4 from 5, and there may well be even more to come.

Amoola Gold

Patchy form last season but well prepared to make successful return from 8 months off at Wetherby and defied a 5 lb rise when following up over C&D 17 days later. Respected in hat-trick bid.

Drumconnor Lad

Better than ever over fences last season and improved further when scoring under good conditional at Ayr 3 weeks ago, produced to lead 4 out and quickly asserting. Each-way claims up 5 lb.

Gino Trail

Veteran who looked as good as ever when making winning debut for this yard at Doncaster but found the race coming too soon when pulled up at Cheltenham just a fortnight later. May need this on return.

Marracudja

Useful chaser who recorded a career best when winning 2m handicap at Wetherby last season. However, mark suffered after finishing third in Grade 1 here and struggled in handicaps since.

VERDICT:

Kim Bailey’s FIRST FLOW quickly made up into a smart chaser last term, mopping up a hat-trick of weak races in quick succession. He’s taken to make a winning reappearance and enhance his fine record in this sphere further. Capeland is feared having won this contest last year, along with Irish-raider Abbey Magic, who could have plenty more to offer.
