The return to this track should suit SWEET DIME and she is taken to record her first victory in Britain. Her two best efforts since joining this yard have come over C&D and this looks like a good opportunity. It’s hard to rule out many of the others. Glenties has the ability to be seriously competitive off his current mark in a change of headgear, while Dublin Pharaoh and Cloud Thunder also look big dangers in a tight race.

It would be no surprise to see Stargazer go well at a venue where he has a few good efforts to his name but the most solid option would appear to be THE TRADER who was in good form on turf during the summer and may be able to dominate this small-field affair on his return from a break.
Silver Gunn has a smart pedigree and is respected after his promising debut third over C&D in September. John Gosden’s pair Silver Horn and Flight Alert both looked inexperienced on their debuts and are likely improvers here, while Mark Johnston’s well-bred newcomer Kondo Isami needs checking in the market. However, it is hard to get away from TEONA, who didn’t get much luck before finishing well for a clear second over 1m here last month and sets a high standard on that striking effort.
The most striking contender is CAEN NA COILLE (nap), who hit a clear personal best with her smooth win over C&D last time and is still unexposed on Tapeta. Second choice is Oslo, who is on his winning mark and was a good second behind an improver at Chelmsford last week. The other one on the shortlist is Fantail who caught the eye with her strong finish at Kempton and looks interesting on this step up to 1m2f.

On the face of things THE SEDBERGHIAN didn’t achieve enough on debut to suggest she’d be up to defying a penalty, but the bare result doesn’t tell the whole story as she did well to prevail after plenty went wrong. There could be a fair bit of improvement in the locker and she’s the percentage call in a race where the main threat is likely to come from newcomers. Dabirstar and Majestic Tejaan are two debutantes from good 2yo yards, although the betting will provide more clues.
This is a tight call between the two standout contenders in Legion Of Honour and COLONEL FAULKNER. They both recorded RPRs in the 80s when going close on their debuts but the former returns from almost five months off, and preference is for Colonel Faulkner who chased home an odds-on rival at Doncaster four weeks ago. Nagasaki Dream was a promising third over C&D in September and has each-way claims again, while there are several well-bred newcomers who need watching in the market.
Having dropped back to 1lb lower than when successful at Chelmsford in September it might be worth chancing WATCHABLE given that he has a second and win to his name in the last two runnings of this race. There are plenty of dangers, headed by recent Southwell 1-2 Birkenhead and Exalted Angel, wide-margin Doncaster winner Venturous and John Kirkup, who has a very good 5f record.
